Did your pc come up with New Device Detected - Flash Memory (or similar) and try to install a driver, which it couldn't find... when you reconnected it holding 'c'
then the fone just turned on as normal
Mine did..
for the others - I'm on a branded Voda with the lockup problem, its trying to update the phone..which is good news...
just seen the USB update post... teach me to read the requirements and not rush ahead

I had to uninstall PC suite, and install the new USB driver when i connected phone again: after that i went without problems. First note on the new firmware: sound i headset is much louder, both in phone and mp3 player, same level as the radio now

Other way :
Open Device Mgr > Press "c" and plug > catch in device Mgr "USB Flash" and upgrade the driver with last driver donwloaded.
close phone > wait 20 Sec > Press "c" > plung > the phone don't start but the upgrade Yes !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm also on 02 and would like to know if the fact that i can use a voda contract sim in my supposedly o2 branded k750i (minimal branding mind) is normal and if any fw update is likely to negate this 'feature'?
The fone is working fine, not had any lockups etc, and if the fw upgrade only has minimal effect but removes this unblockedness (is that a word? well, it is now) then i probably won't bother.
If anyone on O2 does get the fw upgrade (if any) to work I'd be very interested to know what it does. cheers

Mine was definately the driver.. had to 'catch' it when it flashed up in devices briefly and point it to the new one...
Updating now.. 9 mins to go...
please let it fix the lockup...
