There is no point having a discussion with you ... lost hope!

Back to topic instead of turning everything to religion.

Every 3 seconds an african child dies of malnutrition and 15000 more die everyday of curable diseases. Africa has the highest incidence of poverty and accounts for 40 % of premature deaths around the globe. AIDS alone has claimed around 17 million african lives threatening the future of humanity in the continent. TODAY AFRICA TOMORROW THE WORLD....? This message was posted from a Nokia

I'm not an expert here and I'm just giving my opinion, but:

I think the problems in Africa come from a lack of money, information, and religious interference, and perhaps the developed world not doing enough to help/stop this?

I doubt we'll all be dying of aids any time soon (we'll have nuked or blown ourselves up long before that probably! )

And it could be argued that all the droughts and famines in Africa are down to our changing climate (and the corrupt and greedy regimes that hold sway in many countries over there )

I am glad a vaccine has been developed for Avian Flu. That bugger had the capacity to see off Millions of people in a matter of weeks.

Or may be we should not have developed a vaccine and let millions die! It is the end of the world after all, we may as well help things along a bit

No sense in hanging around is !

What I don't get is, these people who are so sure the end of the world is nigh, are they still taking out mortgages and building up businesses and other long term commitments?

Part of the problem in Africa are the corrupt governments, which rule over much of the continent. It is all very well for the developed world to give more aid, but if that aid is squandered then it doesn't count for much.

Sorry to ruin your day again Glenny but scientists predict that changing weather patterns will also mean a weakening of the Gulf Stream - the flow of warm water from the Mexican Gulf that warms the British Isles.

Thats why these isles are warmer than other countries on the same latitude. Without it we can look forward to weather much like our Scandinavian friends.

So wrap up well and remember this - there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing (Corny ).
