Great. Now, tell us, any improvements or differences you see? Doesn't really help to post your device's update information. We need feedback!

I have just updated mine to R1DA038
Mine is a O2 Branded phone. So O2 have approved of the firmware
Even with the new firmware and new camera update, the pictures are still dark. This now goes to beleive that there are more things wrong that just the camera?
I also dont notice anything different to R1CA037. Menu speed hasnt changed, one of my mp4 videos is still 3-6 seconds out of sync when playing.
So what has SE dont in this software, any one?
*** one thing i can currenlty tell you, After updating the phone, my GPRS no longer works to connect to Esato and some other wap sites, my Feeds no longer update either.
Currently doing a master reset, so will let you know the outcome.
** Maseter reset fixed it to gprs not working **

@darrengf
I reckon there must be summin up with your phone... since the new firmware I can only get dark pics if there is something reflecting the autofocus light which is nearer than the subject... like my finger overhanging.
photos in the media viewer now slide a bit differently..... browsing the media player seems fast to me - maybe others have bad memory cards - I'm using the 1gb that came with my w880.
Web browsing is still slow to react, but menus do seem a little faster than on 029 - could be my imagination tho.

@vortigern
Since after doing a master reset on the phone, the camera has took much better shots, brighter and clearer (Altho with the flash going of that many times im now got spots flashing before them)
The menus are faster when going through them and the media browsing is better.

Hmm, good to hear there are some positive results so far. I assume this isn't the "big" update that is claimed to come in January, is it?
What I think is that the phone will be fixed by a series of firmware releases... don't think a big chunky FW release is too practical, considering if new bugs arise, people will be quite pissed. Issuing a series of updates is more probable... is what I'm thinking.

The Media player had Def been improved. The speed slighly faster, but it now diaplays things with the correct numbers on now.
Before it would say track 001 003 and miss track 2 out for some reason, now it shows all the track numbers there in my own folders.
Feeling a little happier now
Still lots of improvements needed tho like can the firmwware improve on the build quality?
I dont know if this is the firmware or not, This firmware is dated 07.12.07
Another thing i can tell you is now when you write a sms the Aa box has changed.
Have a look

Hmm, from the looks of it, that has changed, in addition to the T9 indicator being in a box rather than just the indicator itself. IMO, a welcome improvement to the UI which makes it a lot more appealing over its predecessors.
What we need to see now is speed improvements... there can be tons of eye-candy this phone offers, but it has to go hand-in-hand with speed.

The speeds has improved.
The phone still takes ages to boot (not sure why this is)
But the phone it self arround menus are slightly faster, there was always a lag when doing a mms and after adding a pic the sms part would be very slow, this has improved slightly, It can now pretty much keep up with you on most of the words when typed.
I will lt other people see what they think.
I can also tell you that Symbol for SMS has changed, and when you receive a MMS, it is no different to the SMS symbol
The voice mail icon is also slightly more different but not much. So its symbols all round then
