@ Brix.Download FExplorer again and see whats going on with that memory card.It cant just disappear unless you formatted the card without knowing you did.I normally download all my apps and games onto my PC and then transfer to phone, that way I always have them when something like this happens.Try stick that memory card into another compatible Nokia and see if all your stuff miraculously reappear.Dont reformat until you've exhausted all avenues.Thats part of the fun.Solving these nigly problems.

Brix, have you tried any of the mmc recovery apps to be found on various sites like dotsis, etc?

Ya I was gonna suggest dotsis too. Hope you get it sorted, Brixster.

The new (and bound-to-be expensive) Nokia 8600 fashion phone has already appeared on the UK's Carphone Warehouse site for pre-order:

Didn't realise that the new Samsung F300's battery cannot be changed, unless it is stripped by a proper repair centre...

Out of frustration I formatted the card last night, it felt like a bitter pill I just had to swallow.

This incident has taught me a valuable lesson: Back It Up!

Ya, I watched plenty of them when I had my first stint in the UK from '97 to early '99.
The wildest one IMO was the cops trying to put an end to the carnage caused by a deranged ex-military bloke driving an army tank 'borrowed' from the local base, down the motorways. The guy flattened cars, mobile homes, snapped street lamps and tried to knock a bridge down.

He eventually got the tank stuck on a big concrete motorway island. The cops eventually managed to open the turret hatch and were forced to put a bullet through the guy's head when the guy refused to give up, and before the tank broke free into the oncoming traffic...

Insane indeed... a proper 'truth-stranger-than-fiction' scenario.
