@ Jojo,
Kamusta ka?
I wish that whoever did the weekend weather report for the UK was correct...it's still raining here...
Taken in our rear garden/ back yard this morning, with an umbrella sheltering the phone and I from the rain:

Hope you have a great Sunday there, mate.

@ Rhino8,
LMAO; what a catch...the one that 'didn't get away..!' Must've taken hours to land that meneer.
LOL, I guess you could always use it as bait to catch some bigger bait.
Really great to see more pics around here lately.

Hehehehe i can imagine the epic struggle to land that monster, Rhino

I once had a similar catch, out at the harbour wall one evening. I had lowered a handline into the water, but when some friends in the guise of Messrs Justerini and Brooks arrived i promptly forgot about the handline. By the time my friends and i were getting ready to leave i remembered the line... raised it to find one very irritated mullet duly dangling from the hook, hardly bigger than your leviathan

Taken this afternoon at West Ham United in Upton Park, east London.

The street I'm standing in to take the pic is Green Street, where the movie with the same name is based on.

As you can see by the pedestrians all sporting brollies, it's still raining here...

Taken from East London's Daily Dispatch:

'Competition set to hot up for fixed-line options.

FROM early next year, customers will start to have a choice when it comes to picking a fixed-line phone company.

“Customers will be able to select carriers of their choice for the transmission of voice and data,” information engineering expert Tshilidzi Marwala told journalists in Cape Town yesterday.

Speaking at the handover of a report by the Local Loop Unbundling Committee (LLUC) to Communications Minister Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri, he said the process of opening up or “unbundling” the telephone network would commence in January next year and be 80 percent complete by 2011.

Marwala is chairperson of the LLUC, established by the minister to investigate allowing multiple local and national operators entry to the multibillion-rand industry.

A “local loop” describes the cables between a home or business and the local telephone exchange.

According to one committee member, unbundling of the network – currently owned and managed by Telkom – could see the cost of telephone calls dropping by between 30 percent and 70 percent on some lines as a result of competition.

It is understood the process will first need Icasa approval, which will take between three and six months, after which the process will start – in urban areas at first, where demand for services is higher.

Matsepe-Casaburri said her department was “not planning to have a delay on this matter”. — Sapa '

Thats good news Wanga but it will take 3 to 6 months to approve really means 1 to 2 years and then some. They will have a commitee meeting to decide if they should have a commitee meeting. That alone is a 3 month affair. Not holding my breath.I just want cheaper internet rates.Bring it on.

LOL, you're probably right.

Check this article out, care of The Register:

'Mobile phone rays paralyse cars'

Nissan has warned its customers not to let their keyless-entry devices touch cellphones, according to reports.

The company has found that RF emissions during an incoming or outgoing call can wipe the memory of the electronic "I-keys" supplied with two of its flagship models.

"We discovered that if the I-Key touches a cellphone...calls have the potential to alter the electronic code inside the I-Key," a Nissan spokesman told Reuters yesterday. The car manufacturer has asked customers to keep their phones at least an inch away from their car keys.

Failure to follow the advice could leave drivers unable to start or unlock their cars. Once the key is scrambled, "the car won't start and the I-Key cannot be reprogrammed", according to Nissan.

The models in question are the 2007 Altima and Infiniti G35, widely sold in North America. Owners are being notified of the problem by email, and will be able to get fresh I-keys from dealers in the event of a problem. A new pattern of keyless-entry device will be available later in the year.'
