well, actually I figured another way.... I took a clean install and installed all applications (legit) and took an image of it..... now, if ever I need to go back to clean state, all I need to do is install the image..... this saves me lots of time from installing all applications again....... Since you are installing windows once every 3 months, it's better if you take an image and save it..... will definitely save you lots of time

@blu, it's very easy than it sounds....... all you need is Norton Ghost or similar software...... using this software you take an image of your computer and create a bootable disk (or CD).... so, whenever there is any problem, just install this image......
apart from Norton Ghost, Acronis is pretty good too....

sp2 helps a bit but not much , i still get spyware adware pornware etc etc on my laptop too. have to format every 3-4 months

yeah, sp2 doesn't solve everything.... @san, I saw that presentation some time back.... it's very well compiled. I wish I could save it, do you have a soft copy of it or somewhere that you know?
