LOL, you're probably right.

Check this article out, care of The Register:

'Mobile phone rays paralyse cars'

Nissan has warned its customers not to let their keyless-entry devices touch cellphones, according to reports.

The company has found that RF emissions during an incoming or outgoing call can wipe the memory of the electronic "I-keys" supplied with two of its flagship models.

"We discovered that if the I-Key touches a cellphone...calls have the potential to alter the electronic code inside the I-Key," a Nissan spokesman told Reuters yesterday. The car manufacturer has asked customers to keep their phones at least an inch away from their car keys.

Failure to follow the advice could leave drivers unable to start or unlock their cars. Once the key is scrambled, "the car won't start and the I-Key cannot be reprogrammed", according to Nissan.

The models in question are the 2007 Altima and Infiniti G35, widely sold in North America. Owners are being notified of the problem by email, and will be able to get fresh I-keys from dealers in the event of a problem. A new pattern of keyless-entry device will be available later in the year.'

Ye it happens to me as well VW gave me the same story.

Today I got taken back to the '86 riots.Nelspruit was or is in chaos today.Buses burning, some with broken window, rubber bullets fly in the air.An Ambulance getting smashed by flying stones.I had to duck the bullets to avoid getting shot at.
You probably wondering what happened.Bus drivers went on strike unannounced, commutters got pissed and all hell broke loose.Getting a Taxi back home was really a big hussle.
Thank GOD l managed

@jmash: There's actually no need for striking workers to get violent, especially when their targets are unrelated to their issues.

Anyone knows what happened to the rumoured announcement today? Was really looking forward to having the Sophia by Christmas or in the New Year.

@ da brixsta,
Sofia seems to be still very much elusive; let's hope not another P990-esque wait on our hands..it's not even UIQ... at this rate the N95 would've been out a full year before we see Sofia in numbers on the shelves...

But surely they must pull out all the stops to ensure that the thing is out at least a month or two before Christmas...
Hopefully noticed what happened with many disgruntled, prospective PS3 punters before Christmas, jumping ship to XBox 360 and Wii alternatives...

@da wanqsta: All the networks around the world would probably insist that a company like release their showstopper well in advance of the Christmas shopping period.
Talking of shopping, has anyone been offered a credit card lately? This morning I hardly stepped into my office and I got a call from someone at Vodacom telling about the joys of getting their credit card.
Since I know that Vodacom is not a financial institution I asked the lady on the other end which bank would underwrite the card. She answered FirstRand, I said I already had a credit card from FNB and thanked her for the offer.
Banks are trying all the tricks in the book even using Vodacom to lure unsuspecting customers before the Credit Act comes in to force later this week.

Btw, do you have a student in school who likes Bikes too? Do you bring that 'monster' in your workplace?
I hope ya had a nice rainy-weekend too - Professor !

Cue Darth Vader voice in Filipino:

"Jojo, ako ang erpats mo...!"

About the students here, there are some that like bikes, but they do know their expensive cars much better, like most boys their age, I suppose. But with the vast majority of them it's football/ soccer, pretty much 24/7.
I don't ever ride the bikes to school, as neither are ideal commuters (the superbikes don't enjoy ambling along in peak hour traffic and those fat, soft compound tyres aren't designed with longevity in mind.)
There isn't exactly too much space for lots of marking or files of admin either...

Although the students don't go in the car park, I also don't want the bikes to be a temptation/ novelty for them (or their older brothers in the high schools) to check out more closely...
