This is what my source told me too. Which is odd, because the "P200" XML did not mention EDGE....so this leads me to believe this hardware upgrade has been in the works for a while (and that XML was outdated/old), since my friend got a quadband Paris proto to play with a few weeks ago.

i'm very very disappointed!

I hope that rhe slide will be efficient like that of the u900 soul...

I dont know how much they will tweak it, or if it will be for better or for worse, but I hope itll be worth the wait. I dont want to see it come out with UIQ 3.0 after so much waiting. Its such a shame about the X1. Take out winmo (and burn it) shove UIQ in there and its perfect. BTW did your friend let you see this proto by any chance?

breccia I simply must ask: whats your fetish for a 3.5mm jack all about. Its just a thing to let you plug earphones in, just like fastport. Besides, you can get adaptors for fastport anyway, but provided you can listen to the music, why is it so extremely important.

At first I wanted a superphone with optical zoom, but then I realised its not really worth it considering the rest of the phones optics, and considering the extra size. You probably wont use it much. Features like this will become commonplace with time when they become smaller and cheaper to implement. But youre gonna be waiting a long long time if you dont find a compromise for now.

My guess is that since Eldar said the Paris proto floating around was just UIQ 3.0, it had the old platform, but the UIQ 3.3 proto (which has not been leaked) has a beefed up platform and slightly enhanced specs (including, apparently, quadband).

Thats allright then. I think all this business about changing protos and specs and features and platform version...We know too much really. These things will happen in the design of a high end product and ideally we should just see the final result. But its going bac kand forth with these protos on the internet and its really getting nowhere because noone can prove what the final one is. That Gladiotis guy came along saying he had the final production model. Next thing he knows its back for tuning lol.
But my point about the info you provide us with, Mizzle, was that maybe by the time we learn of a certain issue with a certain model, SE mightve already changed it. Its not like were getting a live commentary here from inside SE. I just wanna know when we will see Paris though.

They said Shiho is released in september. I asked about paris but noone said anything. Either they, didnt know, didnt wanna say or were just enjoying the shiho hype lol
