@ Francois,
Howzit boet, really good to see you around here again.
Well now, VLC...I've been checking out what the 'net sez about it and I must admit it seems a pretty loaded player. Wow.
It's apparently been downloaded over 30 million times...eish, then perhaps it's a bit surprising that it isn't more widely known..
I see that VLC media player can display the playing video as the desktop wallpaper too. No fine.

@ Jojo,
Well after even more sporadic rain here, I decided to take a few pics of the Kawa, although perhaps not the type you were expecting, ie. in the garage again.
My friend Dale got me one of the excellent K&N airbox filters to replace the stock one. Both K&N and BMC filters come with lifetime warranties, which is just as well as they are not cheap.
So it was an opportunity to strip part of the bike a little. The massive airbox becomes pressurised (Ram Air Induction) when riding along, to improve performance even further, so a top-spec filter is a must.
What I found a bit unusual at first, with this bike, is that the engine coolant container is behind one of the frame's main beams, so it looks like if I want to top it up, it'll mean the tank has to come off! Now that's a first for any bike that I've owned to date.
Then I realised that as the bike was primarily designed for the race track (this is the 'RR' version), the coolant (left) and most of the other notable bits were completely out of harm's way, should any hardcore racers suddenly participate in some involuntary tar surfing...
The fuel injection system can be seen here too.
Electonic sender unit and reflective heat-dissipating padding under the tank.

Nokia's horrid-looking, ultra-basic 2652...'Flexi-Wings Flip Phone' (© amawanqa LOL) is being flogged by Virgin for £9.99 (approx R140), subject to a £10 top-up.

In other news, care of The Register, the Big Red One announced some interesting stats...:
'Vodafone Group PLC said this morning that it has met expectations for its most recent financial year but conceded that market conditions remained difficult in Europe.
The mobile phone giant today posted results for the year ended 31 March 2007, which showed revenues up 6 per cent on the year to £31.1bn. The company managed to trim its operating loss from last year’s £14bn to a slightly more platable £1.6bn. This left it with a pre-tax loss of £2.3bn.
Vodafone said earnings per share rose 11.4 per cent to 11.26 pence, while total dividends increased by a healthy 11.4 per cent to 6.76 pence.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) was said to be up to £11.960bnn.
Vodafone said it expected group revenue for the coming year to be in the range of £33.3bn to £34.1bn, with adjusted operating profit in the range of £9.3bn to £9.8bn.
The firm said it was battling strong competition in key European markets.
"We expect market conditions to remain challenging for the year ahead in Europe, notwithstanding continued positive operating trends in data revenue and voice usage," said Vodafone CEO Arun Sarin in a statement accompanying the published results.
He added that Vodafone has signed agreements with Yahoo! in the UK, as well as providers in Germany and Italy with banner and content advertising seen as an important revenue stream for the business over the coming year.
Data revenue was said to have grown 30.1 per cent in the past year with the firm ramping up its Vodafone Live! service to integrate mobile and PC environments.
The firm attributed significant growth in emerging markets to the acquisition of Hutchison Essar in India, and Sarin said: "A key priority for the year ahead is to continue the expansion of the network and capture the growth opportunity in the market."
Vodafone topped the FTSE 100 index this morning with gains of 3.7 per cent. Shares are currently trading at 157.6 pence per share, up 4.10 per cent.
According to Reuters, traders have today been talking up the possibility of a bid for the firm from AT&T. However, Vodafone refused to comment.'

Ya, your survey has already yielded some interesting info indeed.
About the bike, yeah that colour just wouldn't suit a car. Perhaps if it was some uber-custom design churned out by the guys of 'Pimp My Ride' or something, but certainly not a conventional tjorrie IMO.
Getting the 2 bikes like I have now didn't come easy; it's taken a long time to have what I have now, especially with all manner of other priorities like the house etc.
Oh ya, and don't forget you've got an ass-kickin' P990 and I'm still sat with my ol' P900 LOL. I can't win 'em all, hey?
I think a lot of bikers have a few screws loose in some form or way LOL. However, it's unfortunate that it's the infamous '1%' statistic that give bikers such a bad name... and with that, check this biker chick out...:

Ya, that was SASOL's old catchphrase if I remember correctly.
About starting a family, yup, we're working on it.

May I ask what brand of tyre ya have on your bike

@ Jojo,
It comes standard with Dunlop D207's. It's the first pair of Dunlops that I've had any experience with. So far so good, but as I'm running the bike in, I haven't 'pushed' the bike to any limits of sorts. We'll see in the months ahead how they hold up, but if they have been fitted on a track-orientated bike like that then they are bound to be pretty good.
Metzeler remains one of the best tyre makes out there, but they are not as prolific as what they once were.
Continental also haven't raised their profile with modern bikes. You just don't see them any more.
Nowadays, just like in most top motorsport arenas, it's between Michelin and Bridgestone.
I have had/used both Bridgestone Battlax and Michelin Pilot ranges on my bikes and I have found these by far the most confidence-inspiring.
On my other bike, the TL1000S, there are Pirelli Dragon Super Corsa's. Pirelli muscled their way into being the sole tyre supplier for the World Superbike Championship (much to the disgust of Michelin and Dunlop) and the above-mentioned tyres are excellent too...they give lots of rider-feedback and are also very confidence-inspiring.
I think tyre technology has progressed to a point that one can't go too wrong with the top brands nowadays.

Cool, glad you guys are interested in VLC media player.word of warning,it aint exactly pretty, but i think it mite be skinnable,or maybe moddable. The only case it is cul is if u watch a lot of viden files.1of the first players i know of that could play quicktime files without quicktime. I hate quicktime player. Also, any vids i download using a firefox plugin from youtube plays in it. Basically, dont ever download and install one of those 50meg codec packs for your pc, they cause more problems than anything. Now hopefully one day they will get a mobile version of it going. 10 megs of application that can play anything. That is what one needs.
I am thinking i should get a windows mobile phone next. Its still a while, and with the iphone coming. But i will see. I just know that the firefox people made a browser for windows mobile and symbian i think. I just like having a phone with effective tools.
