@ Jojo,
Hi pal. It's Tower Bridge in the photo. Big Ben and The Houses of Parliament are a little further west down the Thames River.

London Bridge, well-known because of the nursery rhyme and which many people think is the name for the famous Tower Bridge in the pic, is the closest bridge to Tower Bridge itself.
London Bridge has been built and rebuilt in several different forms over its long history.
I'll include some pics of London Bridge later.

An impromptu lesson in the finer aspects of the dance was given to a group of SAOU teachers by an SACP flag-waving lady of at least 65 years of age (i later determined that she is a doctor from one of the rural hospitals) who demonstrated that the knees need to be lifted to chest height at least (provided that there's no obstruction in the form of latent abdominal muscle aka potbelly, as in my case, lol).

All in all i'd say that the march went off very well, with no unsavory incidents of which i'm aware. Hopefully sanity will prevail and a decent offer will be made and accepted asap.

LMAO, a pretty entertaining description of the trials and tribulations of those 'fairer-hued' toyi-toyi newbies.

I read in The Herald online that there was a failed last ditch offer from the powers that be, claiming 'significant' increases for nurses' and teachers' (et al) salaries.

Taken with the N73 at sunset on Tower Bridge itself.

More night-time N73 pics, later that evening. The 'floating museum', HMS Belfast, a cruiser-class warship that served during World War 2 and the Korean War. (Permanently moored along the Thames River.) Tower Bridge is well lit up in the background.

London Bridge close by, lacking the obvious visual impact/stature/intricate architecture of Tower Bridge, is lit up with a myriad of blazing red lights.

You can see some double decker buses crossing the bridge, with St Paul's Cathedral in the background.

Mrs A's jacket blends in well.

Word has it those increases are more intended for those people who are at the very very bottom of the income pool, i.e. matric and one year's training. Those qualifications went out with Noah's dad, which effectively means there are probably only a handful of such people left... in all likelihood they're Geraldene's forgotten aunts or third cousins four times removed who haven't heard that they ought to have retired once they turned 99, lol

Thanks boet.
As is usually the case with cellphone pics, it's a good thing that I took quite a few pics while we were around there, as not all came out as satisfactorily as the ones I finally selected for posting.

Good news about the P1i. It's appeared on one of the UK network's (O2) websites already, under the 'coming soon' section (July).
https://shop.o2.co.uk/ComingSoon

That's earlier than I think most people imagined, including myself.
Now fingers crossed that there's no substantial 'delays' along the way, a la P990..

@ Jojo: Yeah, she is a cutie. About Pearl Harbor, what an epic movie. A pity that there was no mention in the movie that the reason why the US was able to retaliate so emphatically was largely due to the fact that the US aircraft carriers of their Pacific Fleet were out on training exercises in the Pacific when the attack took place. That's why there was no US aircraft carriers damaged or sunk on that fateful day. Anywayz, you have a great Sunday too, mate. :-)
