you don't need to..

you can do archive and install with leopard and it will leave everything as it was

Even gets you back on wifi without entering your wpa key! bloody clever if you ask me!

Is there anyway to reset mail at all and start over again? I keep getting this weird error message and non of my emails are coming through on my mac? They come through ok on my BB so i presume the problem lies with my iMac.

Just go to Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts -> Delete the current dot mac account and then start again. Everything should be automated from there in.
