Just get a bright white pic on ur phone, have it in a folder u can get to quickly and use that as ur torch.
I tried taking a picture of my friend while he took a pic of me with his w800 with LEDs on, the result... a very bright plain white photo that is just as bright as the LEDs for looking for stuff in the dark, sorted

Apparently the xenon flash stays on when you want to use it during video recording, so you can just selct to record video instead of the camera, not actually start the recording of course but instead just turn the flash on, if you get what i'm saying.

But I still don't think that a) xenon flashes are capable of such long periods of being 'on' b) the enourmous power usage of the flash, proper digital cameras already have enough trouble with supplying that much power themselves for short bursts and c) this flash would be far to bright to be actually usable.

Well Mate, as far as the whole xenon thing staying on, who knows unless you fiddle around with one.

What you have in Digital Stills and what I am guessing is in Sony Ericsson's K800i would be alittle different.

As the xenon flash in the K800i is not going to charge up for you so you can take a snap, you just would as many as you want and so the flash would be used as many times too, hence in stand alone camera's you have to wait here you don't.

As well since Sony have there Cyber-Shot Digital camera's line and there own R & D they would have done something for the K800i.

Something new I imagine. Here the xenon flash is an energy saver so it uses less battery power, ... according to SE who are usually right in this regard and with whom I won't bother arguing with as if they're saying it's energy friendly then I guess it is in whichever way.

As well the brighter the better ... as even in camcorders and other video rec. stuff they put there on light on, and here on a fone your getting a bright light to take a pic... so it's all good.

Cheers ... !!!

Just off the phone from the Sony Eshop, hoping they might have got them in, and was told the K800 is delayed until August.

Well Dude ...

The fone is set to be released on the 26th June '06 as well the Sony Ericsson Website for the K800i has also been updated so it's all game now that the fone is about to be released so the wait is almost ova.

The fone would be available in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in the 1st week of July though but the official release is on the 26th June globally.

As far as August is concerned I guess it's for you guys who are operator dependent or something to that concern.

Cheers ... !!!

Hello,
I'm new to this forum, so excuse me for asking a question someone has already asked 1000 times. But, does that June 26 date also apply for the K790 in the states?
Thanks in advance

@ Danso

Well the June 26th date is the time Sony Ericsson releases the fone to the world. Then you have to see the people who supply SE's in the states and call'em up and find out when they would be getting it.

Since you guys would be getting the K790a and not the K800i that won't be released on 26th June.

The date for it to be launched globally will be the 2nd week of july and most likely 2-3 weeks after that would be available at your retailers in the states after shipping and all logistics concerned which take 2-3 weeks after the release from SE.

Cheers ... !!!
