I agree it is strange because China is the market you want to make a splash with a phablet, so it would be more powerful than Paris.
However, the Paris event would be redundant, there is even less point doing an event for a device introduced 2 weeks earlier, when so many events are planned.
But rather than my logic, i will first trust the invites that to date are quite clear: June 25 teases weareable and watch in particular (maybe sony has more than a watch under it's sleeves, think maybe a glass, no need to wait for google if you can do it) while Paris teases a phablet with a pen, so Togari.
They could not be clearer.

This one did not get me very excited, although it is interesting to see how a Sony midranger outsells the galaxy s4 this year, while they merely used to be on par with s3 with the high rangers.

The day Sony outsells the Iphone and Samsung Galaxy S# in the US, is the day Sony can claim victory. Sure, Sony is making great progress in other parts of the world, but with all that, they are virtually unknown here in the States. People know the Sony name, yes. But they certainly do not equate it with mobile phones and the xperia brand is definitely not popular. The US is one of the biggest markets in the world. If Sony can claim victory here, like it most certainly will with the PS4, it will be king of the mobile mountain.

It looks similar to xperia A, but I think xperia A is caller ZR overseas.
I hope going forward the shutter button is softer than Xperia A.
Because the camera is close to the left edge you have to pinch the phone with my fingertips.
Because the phone is thin, I cannot maintain it while pressing the shutter button, which for some reason requires more strenght than I would expect to get from the autofocus position to the final shoot.
So i cannot shoot without moving which is anoying.
Also i disliked the oversaturated red color output. This may be due to the screen or maybe camera software, I do not know. Software would be better as then it could be improved.
I hope Honami will improve the ergonomy of taking pictures, but i manage my expectations because camera seems close to the edge and it is rumored to be thin which makes sense commercially.

You need to give time to things, there are battles to be fought before this one, and Japan is the one they have to win.
The good news so far is that they outsell the GS4 with XA by 2 to 1, and have sold quite a bit of Z as well, so this increase the chances of seeing them getting more assertive in the US.
I think the match for Sony will be Honami vs iphone, I don't think US will be part of the battlefield this time, although it would be great.
@Huiyi: Thanks for the additional info. By the way, would you know if Sony plans a "mobile camera" for next week in China, which is SR4 on sony alpha rumors? This may be what Maia saw, but it is strange that no other insider has info on it. Maybe they have been asked not to share, including you
I have hopes that a cameraphone with the camera at the center, more thickness would solve my ergonomy issue and would please the proponents of xenon flash, please Sony give us a sign!

wow, so many new products to buy...definitely need to start saving...
does anyone know if sony has/will improve their release time to market?... i would hate for all these new products to be announced but only available like 3 months later...Togari seems to be an amazing device and although its way too big for me, it suits older people with bad vision which is what all the galaxy note users are...so hopefully this will take away a lot of galaxy note users...can't wait for the smartwatch and honami announcement...
