ksroy, i would still recommend toshiba, ibm thinkpad and the like (well, for be between compaq and asus, asus ka na lang)

@ksroy ... dell is the number 1 choice second is ibm. this is because ofthe intense quality assurance they dedicate to their product. compaq is a great buy also but a bit pricy. asus is a great buy. the product is small yet sturdy and complete. most laptops has the same size as that of asus but you have to buy the optional docking bay to have cd rom, lan, modem, lpt port...... gateway is fun though with built in mp3 player! plus remote of the player. but for value for your money, go for asus.
