24th is the launch, pre ordered phones will be sold by 26th or so. By March 1 rest of the stock will start coming in.
I'll repeat again.
As per Sony Center @ Opera House, Mumbai.
Xperia Z will be available to them either on
24/25/26 February for
PRE-ORDERS ONLY.
March 1 is the date when the distributors will send to retailers and so between March 1 to March 7 it should be there in every local retail shop.
Price is expected to be between Rs.36,000 to Rs.38,000. Max Rs.40,000 is possible but for not too long.

The call quality is absolutely fine. I don't know what the folks at PhoneArena did to screw that up. It has quite some settings, even an equalizer (3 simple presets) for voice calls. You just set it the way you like your calls to sound.

I read that, but there is no formal announcement from Sony yet
With almost 2 weeks left, we should have heard something from Sony by now.
@Indiandawg
Are Indian customers getting any freebies or offers on buying XZ, like the one in UK. I don't want to miss on any offers related to headphones or speakers. I am not sure we will be eligible for any offers if we pre-order XZ.
@Ambroos
Request you to step in and squash those incorrect reviews out there. Sony has given us a very good phone. We should help in promoting the phone as much as possible.

Wow, Sony again fails to deliver. I wonder how many letters they need after EXMOR to make it as good as competition?:D
Left is photo, right video, it's an improvement from Xperia T, but still fails against almost one year old competitor

it was compared to two 2012 flagships with its new camera in hand and still produced such poor results??? Wtf is going on at Sony? Seems all they will ever be good at is making a pretty looking phone.
Sad but true, isn't it?
My disappointment is the call quality on that review. I still believe a phone should be a phone first then a smartphone and all the other things.
My brother's Lumia 920 is absolutely brilliant in call quality... but then, Nokia has always had amazing call quality.
you know what? it's quite easy to find a spot where the camera did not perform well and post that as a result and then laugh at it

be fair now, here's the sample again from gsmarena itself which shows the Z leading against the others having same amount of resolved detail but at a bigger resolution:
Personally I hate people giving misinformation, better make sure you are right 100% before you laugh at things.

Also gsmarena still has not released the review as of now, its still a preview.

Don't get happy so quick, GSMArena screwed up the camera settings, just look at the exposure values. Wait for a REAL camera review from DPReview.com soon.

Then we shall see which phone stands where, rather than getting excited over reviews from sites who can't even get settings right.

How could they screw up settings? They do this comparison many years, and they pick best shot from at least 10 photos. Even so, with Xperia "Superior auto" the phone itself should pick the best settings, ain't that right? And enlighten me how did they screw up video settings? There aren't many settings when taking video are there?

This is just the quality of Z cam... What's really sad is that competition uses the same if not worse sensor made by Sony, it shows that the potential of Z cam is very big, but is destroyed by bad software or lenses, hard to tell... It's a big shame for Sony anyway.
Yes they can screw this.
Look at the same comparison on GSM Arena between Xperia T, SGS III etc.
On one shot Xperia T is zoomed correctly, on the other is out of zoom.
My phone never did such a photo as on GSMArena test of T. And nobody reasonable would believe
the phone can have such changing zoom quality from picture to picture.
And to add to the above post
^^^
Now here are some other shots from GSMArena comparative tool showing that the zooming is not perfect on either of the phones. To stop this silly discussion:
