Hi Jenova, i am sure someone on the forum has been able to debrand their phones at a vodashop. You can do it yourself, but there are two things you have to remember: No matter what,it will cost money. And when you do it yourself there is risk. The risk is because of all the local settings and firmware versions they have for each country. So i suggest going to a shop for your service provider to do it. If they give you crap about it ask to speak to the manager, and go off on them about human rights and you hating these vodafone icons and your friend on mtn whose original icons looks so much better than this crap. If that does not work, then make friends in the mob. But doing it yourself means you will have to get it debranded, which you can do on the net with a credit card. Then after that you will have to attempt using SEUS...but as Wanqa said, all will be lost, settings, everything. Good thing about it is the vodacom weasel would be off forever....

So a lot going on in the broadband arena. You can get broadband over your electric cables where available, at slightly cheaper than anything telcon related. Then there is the whole pay tv battle that icasa is facilitating...its still going, people giving proposals for getting permission to do it. But unfortunately i think telcon media will get it...the bastards know they are losing their grip on the phone thing, so they are transferring their eggs to another basket. And backing the project with like 8 billion, where the other players have between 200-400million backing each. They are sharpening their pitchforks for this battle...
So what do you guys think will happen to mobile data charges once broadband gets cheaper than breath?
Ah, Barney Simon on Tuks FM...yeah! Just played the new Ozzy and Manson. Not 100 my like, but better than all the commercial crap. So glad he left 5 fm...he did not fit.

Noooo, contrary to popular opinion, i have NOT been abducted by aliens, NOR have they conducted any anal probes on me. I just walk like that, lol.

So, the strike seems to be gaining more twists than the Koeksuster Which Felled Brix :-| I haven't been idle though, i've been dragging the neighbourhood kids into my garage and putting them thru their paces. No point in letting their brains go idle, especially those who are at high school.
Brix, hope you get some good pix bro, before the weather clears up there and the stormclouds head this way.

@Jenova: Despite what you've been told I don't know jack about getting generic firmware out of Vodacom...initially when I got my N70 i thought of having it debranded but realised I could get rid of the ugly Vodafone logos by simply changing the theme...if I had a K800 I probably would've changed to the generic firmware a long time ago.
I took this picture over the weekend in Mooreesburg where a train derailed on Thursday.
This after the railway line connecting the Swartland town with the outside world washed away in torrential rains that flooded homes and left several people dependent on emergency aid. It is estimated that 6000 in total will need flood relief and the worst rains are falling in places like Clanwilliam as I write this post.
This is what my boots look like after trekking for almost a kilometre across flooded farmland.

@ Falcon,
Nice one from Cell C. There is only one UK network that does that as well. (O2).
@ da brixsta,
Eish, I feel for those people up there in the Swartland... hopefully the emergency aid is enough to sustain those that need it most in the interim.

@Falcon: That's some brilliant innovation but Cell C will need much more innovation if they're to
survive.
