if I get a chance I'll check on monday if more update versions are available or not. But they are not able to say if this is the final version I think that decision is made somewhere deep inside SE. Still what I can say is that this version has been available for sometime. Cause a number of my friends had their upgraded too much before me and when we check we were all the same release.
Guys i think this clearly means there must be some other version been worked...i remember sometime ago (maybe 2 months) a message in a german forum, and before that on a french one, were people with conection too SE refered a R9 something version was already been tested
Also, we must remember R7 was first launched early September...
So i think the only thing we can now say for sure is that Opera will be upgraded and will use less RAM

I think SE should at least release a firmware that is "usable". All the rebooting to improve performance is not acceptable. Not too sure what SE has in mind when they introduce this "feature".
It would be good for SE to at least have the courtesy to keep us informed of their progress on the firmware. There are so many unhappy owners / users around the world, who are waiting to know what is going on. For all the support given to SE, we would be appreciative to be kept informed of the plans that are in the pipeline.

There no one that does that, but i agree they should have something like a blog where they posted some generic info about what is being done, alert people about new updates, and specially - publish the changelog

agree..... and now who should tell SE and where to tell them? cause i never know one...
It give me a little hope after reading that new firmware could give more stable and no restart...
So, just two more to go
1. memory leakage
2. low RAM
and we all gonna get a wonderfull phone ever... cherrsss

There is a changelog for the other models how come not for P990i? Where do they get hold of that info?

Oh, no, they don't need to publish a change log for P990i owners. Come on, what for ? Let the owners just remain beta testers and let them find out every (if any at all) improvement that has been made !
(I'm just being ironic, but still don't understand why SE does handle customers such an unacceptable and dismaying way)

Hi!
I'm from the other clan (I'm a M600 user

but I have afew questions/things to say:
1) Why was the M600 firmware thread locked?
2) The memory leakage isn't really a memory leakage: it simply loads some applications which are system apps, and are hidden, and cannot be closed (since they are hidden). For example when I start up th ephone, I have (I think) ~17.6MB. When I go to the menu, the phone needs to load the "Main menu" app, so when I go back, it will show ~16.8MB (the values are random, I'm not sure in them). Now the thing is: if it would be possible to close down the main menu, I would get back the same amount of memory. It's just that it's not possible (or am I, with swiss manager).
AS far as I know a real memory leak means: when it performs some operations it looses a given amount of memory always. Ie it would mean then whenever I launch the main menu it would loose 0.5MB so after 20 launches it would loose 10MB, but as I saw it "looses" it only once, since it gets loaded.
So the UIQ3 platform is like a load-delayed: start withh minimal number of apps/services, and load the rest when needed.
Pfeww.... long post... and probably for nothing...
