From what I heard, the Z4 will be 810 and I very much doubt anything will have 820 this year. The Z4 specs should be on par with the Galaxy S6 and HTC M9 which is no surprise. Things that may differ are RAM, Sony like to bump that up so 4GB may happen. Camera sensor, no idea if it will be the same as the Z3 or the new curved sensor. What you should know is that it's pretty much a finished product so those expecting it to be miles ahead of the competition should not get too hyped. It'll be as current as you can get. I'm waiting for new e-ink wearables, really hoping for something light and flexible.

I wouldn't expect the curved sensor, the IMX230 is more likely than the curved sensor.

It will be hard for Sony to compete with Samsung and their SGS6. It is really the best of Samsung in every department. Screen, SOC, even the speed of the internal storage is super fast. Still waiting for the best of Sony, they certainly have the capacity...

I think the super fast memory is a good thing for the S6 however in my store this week I asked all customers who bought smartphone if they used an SD card or not, and about 65% of customers said yes. The ability to expand storage only ever has it's advantages and with 4K video capture set to be the norm this year that memory will fill up quick. Just under 5 mins of 4K footage on my Z3 takes up 1.97GB and given the fact about 5GB will be lost before you even open the box for me at least makes expandable memory a must. If I recall a test done by PhoneArena showed that the Z3 has the fastest internal memory of any current smartphone so I'd expect the Z4 to be no slouch in that department any way.

Is this using h.264? Since the file sizes are much larger versus h.265. I am not sure if the S6 has h.265 hardware decode/encode so if Samsung is stuck on h.264 the devices will fill up fast with 4k video if you just shoot 4k video.

According to the white paper for the Z3 it records using H.264. I've no idea what the S6 uses as the Samsung website doesn't publish anything like that.

EDIT
The S6 uses the same as the Z3, H.264 for 4K video recording according to GSM arena anyway.

Since the Exynos_5430 has a H.265(HEVC) decoder I would assume the S6 with its Exynos_7420 to be capable of 4K capture and playback with H.264 (AVC) and H.265 (HEVC) also, just like the 64-bit Snapdragon SoCs. The SD801 like found in the Z3 doesn't support 4K recording nor playback with H.265 codec. Just 1080p playback with H.265 (HEVC).

There is no evidence that the new exynos 7 has h.265 hardware encode/decode, at least I could not find it. Maybe it does, would be foolish for samsung not to include such capability. You know like not including a micro-sd card slot, oh wait.

Do you think Z4 will have wireless charging, quick charging and fingerprint sensor?
