@ R.Mugabe, welcome! Hope you are not here to take over our far...i mean, forum!
My connector cable has seen its last connection. One of the pins have gone all the way in, so i am stuffed. And the price for a new cable is probably 500 bucks, unless i go pirate. Which i might. But for now i will get a bluetooth dongle. Slower connection, as regards to using my phone as a modem, but i dont have an issue with that...slower speed:less of an urge to use the net...smaller data bill:) i dont use the cable for anything but internet and backing up my phonebook and smss and so on. Transfers i use my memory card reader.

Congrats to El Falcone for correctly guessing the object in question!
You've won 1000 Esato Dollars as a result, which you'll receive once I get the overdue 20 million Esato Dollars from goldenface, LOL.
I actually obtained handfuls of these freebie

promo keyrings, pens etc at a cellphone show at Earls Court in central London, organised by What Mobile, back in June 2003. I'll see if I can dig a few old pics out.
It wasn't at all related to the current Smartphone Show which is held in east London at the Excel Arena.
The

stand was then revealing the P800 and T610, with live demo phones for the throngs to try out, and there was a lot of promotional things going on to bolster that do-or-die stage of

's early days ...you may remember that

were in dire straits at the time and the aforementioned 2 phones did much to put the company firmly back on its feet.
I actually dug out the last few metal

keyrings I have left, still in their boxes, while clearing out some boxes of stored stuff that I had in the loft. Most I had given to family and friends back home who I knew owned

handsets, together with the pens etc.
All before I joined esato, although I had checked out the site by then.
@ Falcon,
Dang, that's quite a weekend you had there, boet!
@ Jojo,
Yup lesson plans, updating class admin and marking.

Thats sad nws, i would go bananas without my cable, as i absolutely hate connectiong via bt, but fortunately, me converting all the cell users in the faqmily to

high end phones means i got at least 3 spare cables for me to use at any time.... older cables and the new cables.

Finally got my T39m this morning, I think it'll be appropriate for me to change my avatar. Already having issues, network issues, the bloody thing won't pick up a signal.
Been stressed out like hell today, I'm supposed to move out of my flat at the end of the month and of all the places I've seen nothing has pleased me. Was looking to live with someone but now I've changed my mind after meeting with a dyke this morning...she's going to be living with her girlfriend, and I'll have to grin and bear it for about six months. So like Falcon, I'm getting cold feet, and besides the place is way out in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town...nice if you want to walk a dog but crappy if love bars and clubs.

@francois: ur internet speed will not be affected whether u use bluetooth or the cable. I've tested both, and its exactly the same. I seriously wouldn't consider a fake cable coz a fake battery charger stuffed up my k700i battery. Only lasts like 5mins.
@Rhino: the world is a much better place when all the people around u use se phones. My brothers use a w810 and w300 respectively. My mum is using a v600 and my gf a k800. Wherever i go, i have a charger and a data cable for my m600. Btw 2 of my mates picked up their m600s this weekend after i showed them a demo of the gr8 interface and capabilities. Really loving the new opera mini and cant wait for opera mobile 9. That should be awesome. I've really grown to love this phone.

Got my bluetooth dongle today for 85 bucks from Computer Corporation. Funny enough we drove out to an out of the way client for it support, and in the middle of nowhere we saw the big boss of computer corporations souped up bakkie parked out in front of one of the houses. Talk about weird. I never buy from Computer Corporation.
My bluetooth has installed successfully on 2 pcs already, now just my own pc to get it working on, as a modem. Did not try that on the other pc's.
I dont mind not having the cable as i will not be using it for major file transfers. Just phone book backups and messages, and calendar sync, plus modem. That uses minimal data. And lets face it, the cable is slow. That is why i rejoiced when they said that the w960i's cable has such fast transfer speed. And wireless lan. Gives 2 ways of at least connecting to the phone at half decent speeds.
Also, i can now charge properly while being connected. The charging via usb is so slow that i sometimes go flat while using it as a modem.
So now we only need the wireless electricity technology thing to pull of soon. Will still be a couple of years, just to work out the kinks, but soon you will have wi-fi spots with electricity hot zones where you will truly be wireless. But yeah, that might take 10 years to get standardized. But those scientists who figured out how to do it are going to be rich.

@HOBBS: I live in Green Poin, just off the main road...place was getting too expensive of late...R3000...I recently bought a car and the finances are tight...so right now either looking to share a house/flat or move into a smaller place. One thing I hate about the Table View/Parklands area is the fact that I will have to spend at least an hour in traffic everyday.
About the T39m, it's a geniune classic from Ericsson...phone was one of the first to come with GPRS and Bluetooth when Nokia were still messing about with CSD and infrared.
But like the wanqsta indicated it did have its faults, like reception problems. I think I might be experiencing something like that with my model because it keeps on telling me "no signal" even though my N70 is getting full reception in the middle of the concrete jungle.
