i thought we would get 25 phones this year, including the key 5 (X10, X10 mini, X10 pro, Vivaz and Vivaz Pro)?
Then Spiro/Zylo has been announced. So we sill have 18 more phones. What happened?
Anyway I hope they would release that Walkman Android this year

The multi touch is a lesser problem as they expect more apps to cater for phones with this function.
I did not quite get this. Did you mean Android apps that do not require multi-touch or the other way around? If A lot of new Android apps will support multi-touch, then few applications will work on X10 as it does not have the multi-touch feature. Wouldn't that be a big problem?
The lack of multi-touch is my biggest gripe on X10. I tried a couple of X10 demo phones, I still got the same problem when scrolling down through the apps and swiping the screen from left to right (much like my experience with G1), I kept opening applications that I did not want to. Does this happen on Nexus One and HTC Desire?

I guess 25 was way too ambitious!
Sorry if I was not clear, I mean that more apps will support multi touch which is a minor problem for the X10. It does not mean that the apps won't work but you do lose some functionality and could have stupid scrolling and swiping problems. The big issue is when you compare Froyo to 2.1, there is a significant difference in performance and many little welcome tweaks.

I heard from an insider that we probably won't have any more high ends until next year which sounds a little suspect.
That doesn't sound right (as you say). We're not even halfway through the year yet, and I doubt they'll go that long. Unless possibly your source meant no phones released, rather than announced.
I would expect to see a proper Satio successor at least announced, possibly even an X10 successor announced later in the year.

How many devices will you be releasing this year?
The total number of products, including last year's, will be 26. Clearly this is a huge reduction. There are the key five (see below), which will all be out by the end of Q2. Then there will be a number of Walkman products. Some of these will be better suited to prepay, so we will still have relevance in that segment from the middle of 2010 onwards; they will be around the £100 mark. So it's focused - 14 to 16 key new devices this year.

1. Zylo

3. X10
4. X10 mini
5. X10 mini pro
6. Aspen
7. Vivaz
8. Vivaz pro
9. Hazel
10. Elm
11. Xperia Pureness
12. X2
So, there are still 14 more phones to come. I can see a few high ends in there.

That 26 is quoted as including last year's handsets. So that goes back further than Satio, Aino and Yari, and if memory serves me correctly goes back as far as naite, C903, Jalou, W705 and W715 to name a few. I think you'll find most of those 14 extra handsets there.

@Ricky D
I thought they went as far as the X2 in terms of 'last year's phones', I could be wrong and you could be correct there.
If you are correct then it looks worse for this year's portfolio.

I suppose of the guy means released or announced but the question is asking about how many will be released so the answer is implied release. X2 was certainly released this year. The ones I mentioned before were last year with a couple others (can't be bothered to look up the ones I'm not sure of). I personally wouldn't be surprised if all that's been anounced is all that will be released this year, but I would be expecting some anouncements on some good highends for next year's release. I would also be disappointed if they don't spring a surprise hot handset for Christmas release. Every November for as long as I've taken notice they've released 'hot' phones, in recent years we've had Satio, Aino, C905, K850. But this year is supposedly unlike others and what we have now is a new Sony Ericsson changing direction, portfolio and emphasis so I'm prepared for that disappointment. I have an X10 and don't plan on changing it for a long time.
