I doubt Kaz has much to do with this....He can't be everywhere, doing everything.....
Exactly. That being said, he has more influence that any of us here have. Just poking fun at your question to esato members/visitors as if any of us have the answers you seek

anything anyone gives you here would be pure speculation.
i just find humor in all this
@miromiro - nice ZU vid. though i'm not sure why you posted it here in this thread. I've never had a non-sony phone since before dumbphones got color screens, so i can't say what others do. But, in my experience Sony screens seem to be much brighter than others. Possibly too bright when viewing in a complete dark room if you set it at 100%. But that brightness is necessary for viewing the screen in direct sunlight. I just tested the same thing she did in the video with my XS. It shows the same results. But, when I turn my brightness down to a reasonable level for the somewhat dark room that I'm in.. blacks stay black.
Is it a flaw? is it a defect? Like i said, i can't say cause i'e never had a non-sony phone and i'm not a screen tech guru. But I know I use my phone more in direct sunlight than i'm watching a dark movie/show in pitch darkness. You can always turn brightness down (i.e., calibrate it for your viewing environment) but you can't make the screen brighter in direct sunlight when you need it most.

Uh guys, when it comes to screen, from my experience it is quite pointless to look at comparison through videos or photos. I always wait for a retail unit and look at it with my own eyes before I decide. Why? simply because photos and videos do not accurately show how actually good or bad the screen is.
Another thing, about the contrast ratio 600:1, those are nothing but numbers. They do not tell how good a screen is. It is exactly similar when you look at specs for headphones with the frequency response in kHZ, those DO NOT dictate the quality, you'll have to hear it play music to judge just like what most audiophiles do. Same with screen, you need to look at it yourself before you judge.
If you all don't like the Z1, then simply don't buy it, problem solved. Last I checked, we do not dictate what a company should do, we like their product? then we buy them, we don't like their product? then we don't buy them. Screen quality has been debated over and over and over again, there's no point in further whining, we get your point.
@miromiro
I've seen that vid, it was posted in the ZU thread here at esato, now this is my opinion, but I don't trust her, she also posted at XDA forums bragging that her methods are scientific and that GsmArena a reputable site, knows nothing about screen testing and that GsmArena tests are wrong (quite a huge claim without any evidence). Furthermore in her review, she complains light bleeding on ZU when viewing at 100% brightness at a pitch black environment. What do you expect? of course you will see light bleed by deliberately maxing out brightness and then viewing it at pitch black environment, Who does that anyway? you'd ruin your eyes doing that, It's the same as miscalibrating the screen and then complaining it is bad.

i really agree with mogoo about speaker quality on a phone. it doesn't really matter that much because it's supposed to be for notifications only. who likes listening to a phone's loudspeaker to enjoy music? that's never satisfying. still, i'm posting it here for those who want to hear how sony's loudspeaker has improved.
what really matters for me is the audio outputted by the audio jack. also, the compatibility of the audio jack with different headsets and speakers. we've heard about compatibility issues with xperia audio jacks before.

not a great comparison imo.. they both sounded pretty crappy to me. but what do you expect from a phone speaker? and obviously, with stereo speakers, the HTC one will have a "fuller" sound. that's a given.
All I care about is the sound quality coming from the headphone jack and the loudness of the speaker, for hearing ringtones. seems like Z1's speaker is pretty damn loud. good enough for me!
EDIT:
Full gallery of LOW LIGHT photos from the Z1 in Superior AUTO MODE. I wonder why no one has tried hand held twilight mode? Reviewer says the pictures are very impressive with "balanced photos with low noise levels and sufficient detail." and "Personally, I think this is the best camera I’ve ever used on an Android smartphone". Full size photos are hosted on flickr, which is down for maintenance at the moment so I can't examine them

Sony Mobile has finally commented on the Z1 on Facebook, even if they don't have a launch date yet:
"We have heard all of your enthusiastic questions and comments about Xperia Z1, and we are just as excited as you are for this new device. At this time, we do not have any Canadian news about the device that we can share BUT we promise that by the end of September we will be able to answer more of your questions. Until then we appreciate your patience and thank you all for being big fans of Xperia Z1. Thanks!"
REALLY hoping I can get it in October and don't have to wait multiple months to get mine.

@Moogoo
Looks very promising, given that it was not supposed to perform as good as NOkias, in the first place.

@mckinley.. yah no doubt. i'm not expecting 1020 and definitely not 800 quality. but if it can come close to 1020 given its lower spec'd camera.. i'm MORE than happy with that. and these shots in superior auto mode are VERY promising. It just goes to show that with camera photo samples, the photographer is VERY important to show the camera's true ability. Even though he used superior auto mode here, having a photographers eye and experience does make a difference.
i really wish someone would use the HHT mode!!
