My goodness, was out at 6am already, and I looked around, but could not find any sign of Freezing Cold Day...Think it went away for the weekend. Probably be back early next week.

Well, back to bed...wait for clients to need IT support, then try to get up:-)

Talking about that, me and my friend were talking about the museum culture in South Africa...It's not really big, is it?

@francois: Depends where you are. Personally I love museums and always encourage my family to go but some museums are pointless to a whole lot of people- so not many would support the Agricultural Museum.

Can't to think of it, I have not been to a museum in years. If I were to go overseas, I very likely would go to all the museums I could. I have been to so many of the Gauteng museums when younger, but these days it's quite different.

So, Happy Friday everybody!

@ Jojo and Brixster,
Thanks. Yeah, they didn't come out too badly.

This is not one of my fave times of the year. Another week of long working hours and I'm still up to my ears in paperwork. I worked right through lunchtime as well, so I haven't even had a moment to pop into esato threads today.
Doubt I'll be able to post much this weekend too. Tomorrow the in-laws arrive en route to Canada to visit the eldest of their offspring, so the day will be pretty much with them in west London before they jet over the Atlantic later that evening. They fly back to the UK in late July and will then spend 3-odd weeks here with us before returning to SA. I get along quite well with the in-laws, so it shouldn't be too bad.
On Sunday it's off to a friend's do for much of the day, then get home and then planning and preparation for another week's lessons, plus marking.

So tonight we're chilling around the house. I've taken Last King of Scotland out on DVD and hopefully we'll get round to watching Apocalypto tomorrow night.
Roll on the holidays in 3 weeks' time...

@ama - Yeah, it's NOT also my fave TIME of the year mate . . because of the weather I just hate the rainy/monsoon season at my end I'd rather feel the HEAT (summer season) than the . . . water !

@ jojo, by Hollywood standards the movie does not have a happy/good ending, but I have never been into Hollywood endings. This was a story that was well told, and shows that it does not have to be the Happily Ever After to show what great men have to do. No worth while story has a smooth ending. The stories that make us think about what it is to be a man, they are stories of sacrifice, of honor, stories that challenge our ways and believes in todays world, how we live our daily lives. Take Braveheart, Gladiator, and all movies that fall into this class of story. The heroes never survive, but they are heroes from stories that many remember, be it for what they actually did, or be it that it is lots of peoples favorite movie. Hollywood movies prefer to leave you all warm and fuzzy inside about something that does not seem to matter. It makes people feel good about being faceless and not doing anything worthwhile, and at the same time tells you that you are worthless if you don't live up to certain standards and expectations, if you are not a star.

Here is a few lines from one of my favorite movies, one that for me sums up what is happening the world. Pump up the volume:
"You see, there's nothing to do anymore. Everything decent's been done. All the great themes have been used up. Turned into theme parks. So I don't really find it exactly cheerful to be living in the middle of a totally like exhausted decade where there's nothing to look forward to and no one to look up to."

So what is your thoughts about this subject? Hehe, I really should not get all a-blogging like this in the forums, but yeah, I'm bored:-)
