@france - Very well said matey ! I like historical flicks like that of the 300, sometimes I was wonderin' if it really happened Yes, I like: Gladiator and Braveheart too (history of Scotland . . .) I'm a movie-guy by no-choice . . . I also like that of Troy (Brad Pitt) and Alexander (the Great) . . . and King Arthur too !

All the great stories go against Hollywood's idea of how things should be like. I always take a read on Wikipedia about stories that interest me. I have a weird liking for war movies and stories. Like Saving Private Ryan...That movie was excellent. This group of guys going through near hell to get Ryan out of the war, some of them even dying. The bit where the guy says: "this Ryan better be worth it!" And when they first meet him, seeing that he is not a whimp, he is a guy that does not even want to leave, he is a dangerous man, a guy fighting for his country, what he believes in. That is inspiring.

@france - Yeah, that's a nice movie pal . . . but my BEST bet here is the flick - Pearl Harbor ! Second in my WAR-movies list was Tom Cruise's - War of the Worlds (ultimate) !

@ jojo, no way, War of the Worlds is sci-fi...which effectively makes you a geek...so welcome to the club! hehe! I do enjoy my Sci-fi, in quite a few forms, but post apocalyptic sci fi or movies are my favorite, but none has quite captured that thing i like so much like a game called Fallout. But Mad Max made a good effort. I also like superhero movies, like X-men, Spidey, that kind of thing. Needless to say, Heroes has been a favorite TV show...Just need the last episode now.

Good morning Jojo, Francois et al. So I missed the Midnight Mobile Interest Forum (MMIF) last night ... had to get a bit more shut-eye in for today's busy schedule.
We're on our way to Heathrow Airport shortly and I'm barely awake. I just don't do early mornings, particularly on the weekends. Oh well, I'll survive, I guess.

Well, I got to bed at about 5am, up just before 8 again, change of location(2km down the street) and back in my own bed, for my real nights sleep...at 8:45am in the morning...hehe!

@ wanqa, enjoy the little time with your PIL's (Oh dear, there I start with the TLA's (Three Letter Acronyms) again!) TLA's is an IT thing...everything in computers have TLA's....Like LAN, MAC(Like in MAC address, not the computer necessarily) and many more. Here is a link, not all TLA's, but mostly TLA's.

300 was a brilliant movie indeed, as are so many other historical actions films. Another movie which i thoroughly enjoyed watching again the other day was Spartacus. So, who's seen Shrek the Third yet? My daughter made a point of reminding me last nite that we need to see it when i get back home before we leave for the Grahamstown Arts Festival

I miss the Grahamstown Arts Festival. Yes there are similar bohemian-type markets here, but the G'Town Festival itself has its own unique place in the sun. Haven't seen Shrek 3 yet; maybe next week when we should hopefully have a bit more time on our hands.

I heard that Eagle Eye Cherry is going to perform at the festival. Is that true? Would have loved to be there...
