Hi friends..
I am using the trick but it is not working for me as already described in the thread..
Then I changed some settings & then the trick worked.. I just want to know that whether I am using free or paid service as I am on postpaid connection..thanks..
My settings are as follows:
I am using Nokia 6230 phone.
1. As described I have created 2 connection..airtellive1 & airtellive2
2.My pc cannot dial second connection so I have to remove extrastring & has to dial airtellive1 & to the no *99***1#
3.For wap I am using second connection airtellive2 as default connection.
4. Now what I did is, I pressed "0" so that wap brower activated & connected to airtellive2 & homepage is displayed.
5. Then I dial airtellive1 through pc & pc is connected to net.
6.then I disconnect the wap/airtellive2 in phone by disconnect key. but my pc connection in phone is still there as evidenced by (G)
7. I configured my brower to use the proxy as described in the thread.
8. full internet I am having..
I want to know whether I am using free/paid internet??
Help...
(ps..personally I believe I am using free one I have to pass the proxy which is meant for airtelllive & the airtel people cannt understand whether I am using the connection in phone or computer...what do you think spartan117??)
Thanks

@arvind007
Thanks for the link.
@nikhil
I think we need Class 10 GPRS phone for this trick. Otherwise you will get very low speeds. So I think Nokia 6630 would be a golden choice.

This problem is usually browser specific. So you can try by changing ur browser.

Thanks for the method. But let me clear some facts.
In Nokias, there is a separate hidden GPRS account called "Modem"(it exists if ur phone has GPRS modem). When u dial a connection from PC, it is activated. So there is no point of having Airtel1 & Airtel 2. Your WAP browser will work even if you set Airtel1 as default & u don't have Airtel2. Even if u don't have any GPRS accounts in phone, your dialup connection will work. But to work with WAP browser of ur phone, u need GPRS account in phone.
Another thing, please don't use any filesharing softwares such as LimeWire etc... Airtel will come to know bcoz it uses different ports.
WE HAVE TO USE OUR ONLY FREE INTERNET RESOURCE CAREFULLY.

@stayback
It seems like edge phones do have some speed advantage. Can you tell me what speed you are gettin on ur pc and the speed you are getting on ur 6630 while downloading a file using the default mobile browser? How do you connect ur mobile to pc?
Where do you live ? If possible try to check if the speed is the same while you are outside the city. I wanna know if this EDGE effect is seen only in metros.
Thanks
