I think Sony failed to make hype for their smartphones. I see no way for Z1 compact to be even half as popular as Z was.
I have to disagree. There is nothing on the market like the Z1 compact. I know a hand full of people who would buy it in the US if it comes out unlocked with LTE. 4.3" is the perfect screen size for many.

I think Z1 compact is really cool, much likeable than Z1.

Sony play their ball very carefully and being different and with their timing since last year with the Z. Only problem with the Z was announce early but released a couple months later which the competitors products was released very closed. This round, their got the first very high end small android device out in the market shortly after announcement and release at a very good price point, $530 USD buy off from tmobile also work on AT&T. There really is nothing quite like Z1 Compact in the market beside iphone 5s. Samsung nor any body else can even react fast enough so Sony basically have the entire Q1 basically to sell this phone to the desire market (small flagship phone). I think they will stick to a Q1 and Q4 reveal/release of flagship devices from now on and leave Q2 and Q3 for the competitors to face off enough others.

According with Zomg
FYI - there is no T-Mobile release planned for this phone (Z1 Compact) as far as I know. It is not slated for any US carrier as they all rejected it on the basis of being "too small and too expensive". It will be out everywhere else though.
And
The one saving grace may be a Google Play Edition for the US, but it's just a hope at the moment based on Sony's strong relationship with them.
The Z1s is going to be $529 without a contract from T-Mo, and is fully compatible with AT&T LTE. On that basis a Z1-C GPE would come in at the same sort of price, maybe $499.
I hope one of the US carriers takes it up, but right now it's not looking good.
Bad news for US users

that is the link.
I have to disagree with zomg that z1 compact is not coming to the US. It is supposed to come to the US unlocked but no time-frame has been established yet.

he probably means no carrier is taking it. just hope that unlock version is going to support all carrier bands.

I don't get these US carriers. They carry a phone like lumia 1020 but not Z1 or Z1 compact. Do they really think that lumia 1020 is superior?
