@nils7; although I dont question the authenticity of your photos, I've got to question the email screen in the M600 you posted above with the tagline "What's wrong here?? (readersquestion ) " This email is the same one on SE's site for the P990i though in a much smaller photo. Right down to the spelling mistake of the word "wednesdayt" -> its supposed to be wednesday. Was the email app on your M600 not working?!
I to would like to know how the keypad on the M600 works. No preview stated this clearly.
Q: Did you find the more websites you viewed via WiFi/GPRS the slower going to other apps became? (cache memory for running applications).
> we can pretty much assume that the P990 will hold its price for the next few months from $1200 - 900US dollars. This wont be the case for the N80 ... but I hope that nobody just buys lots of the P990i just to sell them on ebay to keep the pricing high, that would be an injustice!

@ Prom1
The M600i is running the P990 demo...
I also have a photo that the M600i is "taking a picture"... I should make that one blurry and dump into the "rumour" section

.
I just had them for a weekend so I didn't installed any internetconnection settings in them so I didn't emailed with it

.
The keypad had the same feel as a normal conventional keypad but the keys stuck out a little more out of the cover than we are used from other phones. The buttons are shaped hollow (?? don't know the exact word in English) so the edges on the left and right are higher, could be seen in the pics. And pressed normal (in desktop mode) it gives a digit and in messaging mode you press left or right to get a letter, if you would like a digit you should use the "ALT" button, pressed in twice for entering more digits in a row.
I didn't used internet as said before I didn't put in the internet connections.
And mines crashed when I tried to browse the web with WiFi.
You have to imagine that working with the P990i results in removing the battery for 3 times in one half an hour of working with it... is that buggy has hell... even the normal (not video) camera application was unreliable when it made a picture or if I wanted to exit that application.
@ PeterKay
thnx

@nils7, thanks for a very informative mini-review. I hope SE sorts out all those problems you mentioned ASAP.

I was wandering if anyone could confirm this... I was at another forum reading on the P990i and i came accross the fact that P990i is NOT USB2.0 enabled.
this is what the guy wrote,
"- not USB 2.0 for a realy fast data transfer (I would love to use the P990 as a USB Stick replacement with the option to boot a mini OS to a PC in a Internet Cafe for example and therefore the data transfer could not be fast enough and the available memory could not be big enough) or think about GPS systems with a world wide map update ..."
And a few other issues...
2)its digital zoom is only 2.5X and thats it

??
My k750i could go up to 4X and my friend was saying that the N70 could go up to 20X!
3)will this flash attachment by SE, catered initially for K750i, be compatible with P990i.
4) Whats the sms storage quota like? K700 was terrible and K750i was a little better but not good enough. any clue.. anyone?
Any replies would highly be appreciated. thks

Usb:
USB1.0 can do a max speed of approx. 12 mbit/sec.
USB2.0 can do a max of 400+ mbit/sec.
The memory stick inside the cell (duo pro) can do a max write speed of
15 mbit/sec (80 for the high speed version).
I dont see any advantages of using usb2.0. except for the little speed enhancement. But you'll never be able to fully use the speed of usb2.0.
the digital zoom thing:
Digital zoom 4x has the same quality then a digital zoom of 2000x. Why? Well, Every camera has a number of megapixels. Optical zooms works by changing the lightangles of the lenzes. Digital zoom will zoom your image via software. Its the same as pressing your zoom button on your favorite image editor. You dont gain any improvement in the quality. I highly recommend shooting all your photo's in 1x zoom mode and then zoom in on your pc (mutch better zoom algoritmes).
About the sms:
You can save as many sms messages as you can (memory card/phone memory limited).

Does anyone have any information about the most recent updates to the OS on the P990? It seems that all reviews and comments that I have seen are coming from earlier prototypes. The M600 software is said to be pretty stable and near finished, but I haven't heard anything about the latest status of the P990. So if you have a link or any information, please let me know. June is coming up pretty soon...

P990i is not june
On the P990i I had, was not the latest firmware... Because it had old icons etc. And was more buggy. I had played with a newer firmware 2 months ago... (I Know sounds strange). I don't think they have a newer one out, according to what Mark said, but than I do not know if he has an EMMA.
I will ask to some people how far they are or I shall go test myself.
M600i is finished now, they have been providerd to the telecomcompanies to test them for their networks. It's now in their hands when it will hit the market in your country.
I will let you guys know when the P990i has been given to the telecomcompanies... which should add 1 to 2 months for arrival!
