hi
im using a macbook running tiger (like 10.4.9 i think)
and somehow ive managed to delete my utilities folder, and now i cant open .pgk files which is really annoying because i cant install anything.
ive searched the web for an answer and i read somewhere that you can use your instal disk and open the installed bundled software only part but i cant do this because its a pkg file
should i use the install mac osx and bundled software and is there some sort of custom install i could do to keep everything else but just get the utilities folder?
or would doing software update help?
or is there anywhere i could download utilities folder?
or could i even copy it off my mates macbook?
im really pulling my hair out cause im not sure what to do
thanks in advance

You should be able to copy it off your friends macbook no problem. Just make sure that you both running tiger and not tiger-leopard.

Ok so i read somewhere that if you have a partition of 32gb or less for the windows partition you will be able to have fat32 format, so i have tried a 32gb and 25gb option but when i'm at the windows installation stage i get the yellow triangle with windows cannot be installed must be ntfs. Nowhere is there an option to have fat32, it's rather annoying, has anybody found a way around this as those links you provided don't make a whole lot of sense to me?

The "Installer" application isn't located in the Mac's "Utilities" folder.
It should be in:
/System/Library/CoreServices
and you wouldn't be able to accidentally delete it from there without typing in your admin password.
Possibly ".pkg" and ".mpkg" files have forgotten that they should open with "Installer".
If you "get Info" on the above filetypes, see what they are set to "Open with:" and if its not "Installer" set it to that.
