Voting is now open via PM for the Esato Awards 2007, people.
Our thread deserves to be nominated!
Over 4000 posts a year, one of the friendliest forums out there and we (usually) manage to chat about cellphones and cellphone-related goeters far more than some of the other regional threads on the site. Get voting, LOL.

Samsung X830.Had a look at one in a cell-phone shop today and if you looking for something different, something small and unusual, think about this little cute baby.Im a smartphone lover but sometimes I just feel like going back to the basics.A simple phone with basic features.I would choose this little baby.1gb internal memory, edge and 1.3mp cam.Its not the above mentioned specs that would sell me though. Its the unualness, the design, the size.Nice one Samsung.

Exciting game of tennis on the go at Wimbledon. My wish is that Nadal holds out and defeats the mighty Roger Federer.Hate it when someone dominates a sport so convincingly like Federer has tennis.Use to like tennis in the days of Ivan Lendl,Stefan Edberg,Steffie Graf,Goran Ivanisovitch. Now its just so one-sided,I tend not to be able to watch.

@ Kryptik, no, have not read that article. Will do so tonight when i am home. My phone did not want to load the page.
About how much artists earn, locally i am not sure, but it is sometimes as little as 5-10% of production costs...that is, the making of the cd. Which is 5-10% of R10. Which is not even enough to buy a coke. Locally it is harder to make it, so i will suppose it is much different. But like this one lady i used to do sound for, she writes her own disks and sell them. And she makes everything minus the cd cost. She paid for the cd recordings out of her own pocket, and its her business, so yeah. But also, big operations would not work for her, because she is bad. Really bad.
The big money in music is shows and merchandise. And when you are big you get sponsorships, so you get all the equipment for free. More money for mr. Pocket.
The guy playing for mr. Van Blerk used to work at a local music shop. He got replaced by a friend of a friend whose real name, not last name, is de la rey. We started calling him Porra...the de la rey jokes are getting a bit much now.
Can anyone help me with the following? I used my phone to connect to the net yesterday, used 160megs, and checked my balance on Vodacom4me this afternoon. It only showed 70 mb worth of usage, up from 30 last night. Why is my true usage not reflecting? It scares me, since i have a 500 meg bundle, and i am afraid that somehow for some reason they are putting some of that usage on my mymeg 0 i have. I got the 500meg bundle ad hoc.

@ HOBBS,
Ya the X830 is certainly unusual and one of the smallest ever cellphones. The 2-keys-per-row keypad would take a little getting used to, but certainly it's such an original handset that I've actually considered getting one to add to the Wanqollection.
Might have to get rid of a few of my current phones though; I don't want to just become a serious collector as things can quickly become an obsession; I'd only contemplate loadsa cool phones if I actually had money to burn.
I'd also not be arsed by its limited cam and non-expandable memory. It's not what the X830 is about, as you've correctly pointed out.
It has been surpassed by the slightly bigger Samsung F210, with 2mp cam.
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_f210-2014.php
But what's the point of it getting bigger in the first place...it kinda defeats a large part of the X830's unique appeal.
Nah, I'd still go for the X830 then.
Another unique (dimensions-wise) Samsung is the new 5.9mm thick U100. Somehow still having a 3mp cam in it too. Would be great for carrying around in the tight-fitting (need to a lose a little weight..

) bike leathers' internal pockets.
I also remain committed to the smartphone cause, all the more reason why dimensions do play a big part when I'm looking for a secondary/spare phone.
Not that they're large by any standards, but it's time to retire my T610 and T630, methinks.
