@ HOBBS,
When I initially read that thread I tried to avoid frothing at the mouth, as O2 aren't always 100% reliable when it comes to availability dates. They are however (usually) the network that gets the latest phones first, perhaps partly due to the fact that there's no branding and locks that need to still be done on their phones, unlike most of the other networks here.

As you can imagine, heavy contract users will get first pick; O2 will sometimes say that they're out of stock with the latest handsets if they see you're a fairly low-end contract user, although fortunately this isn't always the norm. A few weeks after the initial release, there'll be no such hassles and most O2 stores will then stock them... I can wait another month or two... maybe.

So Lewis Hamilton comes third at his home GP and Federer matches Bjorn Borg's record with 5 Wimbledon titles in a row. At least the weather held for the final; this has got to be one of the wettest late June/ early July periods that we've had for a long time.

BTW, you can now get a K800i for just £99.95 (approx R1400) when bought with £10 airtime from the UK's Carphone Warehouse, and they're unlocked and unbranded!

@ The Hobbster,

CPW is the UK's biggest cellphone chainstore.
What makes them special is that they have such strong buying power that unlike other cellphone stores and chainstores, they are able to obtain generic unbranded and unlocked handsets in bulk. They then have the option to have deals with whatever handset and network combo that they may fancy, with the exception of the restrictive 3G network called '3'.

They used to have 2 competitor chainstores, namely Ther Link and Phones4U. Neither of these are able to offer the same range or unlocked/unbranded cellphones like CPW can.
The Link eventually threw in the towel and have gone online shop only. Phones4U rely heavily with their subsidising from networks, particularly Vodafone, who have a strong bond with them.

Occasionally, Phone4U may have a clearance sale that might match and very seldom beat CPW's prices, but guaranteed they won't be unlocked or unbranded handsets.
CPW is the way to go here for low and mid-range non-contract cellphones, and for anyone from outside the UK planning to purchase a handset/s in these ranges, to use in their native country.

Independent cellphone stockists here like Expansys, Mobilefun and Mphone struggle to get anywhere close to CPW mid and low-end handset prices, although the top-of-the-range handsets can often be sourced cheaper from these stockists than CPW.

Been a busy wanqa in the back yard today. Fortunately the weather held enough to do the usual chores like cutting the grass, trimming the edges, etc.
If anyone said 2 years ago that I'd be spending lots of time in the garden when I have my own house, I would've schemed they've been puffing on some seriously dodgy twala.

I need a holiday. Got some friends who going to the Drakensberg tomorrow, could have gone, but they let me know about the trip 3 hours ago, and it would take me a day to a week to organise with work...that sucks...
