If I'm using XM4 with Xperia 1ii via Bluetooth, is it better to turn the DSEE off in the headphone app and let the DSEE Ultimate in the Xperia take over?

DSEE extreme on XM4 didn't work when connected in LDAC. So you can just ignore it.

There were 2 updates after the update to android 11. Quite a few bugs were fixed. Perhaps now you'll get the polished android 11.
