does it matter? in central auckland my dad's vodem get shit speeds even with hsdpa.
It's not the network, it's the Vodem. I gave up using mine after it returned a download speed 1/2 that of my V640i in the same area.
@M-O
I've only seen the 3G+ symbol in two places in Auckland - Silverdale just north of Auckland and Unitec in Mt Albert. Despite this I get speeds faster that 3G at home (800 - 1400 kbps) with out seeing the 3G+ symbol so I wouldn't rely on the symbol to determine whether you're getting HSDPA or not.
I upgraded the RAM on my laptop yesterday from 256MB to 2.0GB and whoa what a difference! Everything runs faster, I can open multiple Word and PPT documents effortlessly while running my Java Software, run Anti Virus and Anti Spyware programs in the background without a performance loss and even run iTunes without slowing everything else down. Just Awesome. Looking forward to seeing if I get a download speed increase too.
Next up is a HDD upgrade once I fiqure out how to painlessly clone my old 40GB HDD. I gonna go for the largest available which I think is 320GB, but not for a little while yet. My laptop uses IDE not SATA HDD; 320GB should be plenty because I'm storing Handycam video not HD/Blueray DVD video.

Me too... looks like I have scored an X1 before I leave! haha. I had the choice between C905 or X1 and the X1 won.

Its so sexy. Feels like its made of iron or something indestructible anyways. The C905 feels very plastic. Similar to the N96. A real nice menu speed though. Not all slow like the W595 and W980. Roll on Wednesday! I just hope I dont have to install that Windows Mobile Bluetooth stack to get it to work with my watch...

Lucky! I reckon that if I could afford any phone from the SE range right now, it would be the X1.

The Vodafone online store has just been updated with fancy new looks, presumably to be in line with their UK counterparts, and now every single phone comes with the same wallpaper of a bunch of kids doing 'bombs' in the pool.
Anyway, along with the update is the appearance of the black C902 at $899 (Ahahaha rip off), and the T303 in both black and silver (apparently, but the black is the only one shown) at $199, which I'd say is on the very limit of what they can sell it for. Have they even looked at the spec sheet on that thing? I'm surprised it has a calendar! I'd give them $99. Oh yeah and the G502 is now on there, giving the V640i a run for it's money.
Both the C902 and T303 are out of stock, or more likely were never in stock. Also, the P1i has made it's departure.

Vodafone online store has N95 8GB for $1099 down $300. N96 must be arriving soon. It'll be interesting to see how much SE prices the C905... anything over $1099 and it'll struggle to compete with N95 in our market I think.

Yeah I noticed that too. I think they could only just get away with $1200 on the C905, and that would be if they really tried to upsell it for it's 8MP camera, which I really doubt they will. $1000 seems too cheap for a Vodafone NZ new release, especially considering the C902 just came out at $900!
It's kind of weird in a way cause the C905 without the 8MP camera, WiFi and GPS (the latter two I don't think most people will buy it for), is the same as any other SE phone. So if a basic (which is what the C905's is) 8MP camera is about $300, and you gave that to, say a V640i at $300, then add WiFi and GPS at about $100 a pop... That's $800, and I think that would be reasonable. But still, there is no chance.
