Not sure how much exposure the Oscar Pistorius (aka Blade Runner) saga is getting in SA:

@ KBR.
Nice pics, particularly the close-up one's detail. (first pic.)

That older black Ferrari, isn't that a 308 GTO like the one in the 80's TV series Magnum PI?

I've been following the Pistorius story, Wanqa. I tend to agree with the IAAF that they need to conduct more research into the factors which they mentioned, but i'm glad that he's getting his shot at the big boys. Despite the fact that his times aren't in quite the same region as those of the top runners, the exposure can only be good for his morale. Even though he has a long way to go, that boy is fast!!! Goes to show the power of an indomitable spirit...

Indomitable indeed, boet.

Well, yesterday I was browsing around the local SA shop to get the usual boerewors etc for the braai. Some of the parents of pupils that I teach (96% of the pupils at the school are from Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi backgrounds) have been blessing me this term with some tupperware filled with samosas, pakoras, biryani etc, so we decided to treat them to some SA cuisine:

The Joshua Tree remains THE U2 album for me. It's timeless. I was in Std.9 when that album came out; that and INXS's Kick were the 2 definitive albums for me back then.
I also enjoyed some of Rattle and Hum and pretty much all of Achtung Baby, the latter being my second fave U2 album. But Zooropa? What a major musical let-down for me.

Have to agree, I love all U2, but Zootopia is a bit of an odd offering. But for a band that keeps on re-inventing themselves, there are bound to be a miss or 2...strange how many times they have adjusted, and still remain one of the most accepted and "want to see" bands for a lot of people, from metalheads to pop fans.

Helped my brother count up the marks for the exam papers he graded...my gosh, I will never go into the teaching profession! And that was not even the marking! My brother is not a professionally trained teacher, he is an IT guru like me, but got offered a teaching position at the local gang get-together. The worst school in the area, as far as I know. But yeah, it's hard work. Respect to all teachers.And I apologize for sleeping in class my entire high school career:-)

@amawanqa

Hey, nice selection of food there. There is a deli next door to my apartment building that sells imported foods and I am sure it sells the Chili Relish you have pictured (and other nice sauces) What would you eat it with?

@786KBR
Wish we could have a Ferrari day here! Last time I saw that many Ferraris together was 9 yrs ago at the annual Concours de Elegance...

@amawanga
At first I was annoyed and disappointed because I thought that the All Blacks played within themselves and didn't make opportunities to score earlier. But on reflection, I feel that the AB's showed that they have learned an valuable lession from the last world cup. I'm now confident the AB's can shut out an opposition, wear them down and play the percentages well. Just what is needed for a tight semifinal / final against Aus / RSA / Eng / Fra in a couple of months time. I'm also confident the home advantage which usually decides the Tri-nations and Super14 matches will work for us this weekend.
