Wanqa, the U.S. military once used S&M technology as part of their smart weapons arsenal (now discontinued, or so they claim). No, nothing to do with bondage but Smoke and Mirrors... they would holographically project images over enemy territory, thus luring them into thinking a far greater force was attacking them. I remember reading that they would project an image of fighter aircraft over a suspected enemy position, and once the AA guns started blazing away they would simulate images of planes spiralling out of control, etc... They'd keep this up until the AA gunners had depleted their ammunition, then send in the troops to clean up...

@ Kryptik,
I found that pretty interesting. Had no idea of such holographic-type tactics. Can you imagine a headline like 'Bush Uses Latest S&M Equipment To Lure Taliban AA.'
@ Siosal,
LOL, don't worry, we'll soon get back onto cricket.

Unfortunitely not Kryptik.Watched it on the telly. Was a great attendance.Almost packed to capacity. Also another good thing to hear was they were ready to broadcast the match it to 118 countries in High Definition.I think thats one of our World Cup requirements and we seem to be on top of that one.

"Bush cracks S&M whip"
@ Hobbs, it's good knowing that we're at least ready as far as broadcasting is concerned. What bothers me though is the fact that we seem to be making slow progress wrt the actual stadia being built. I can't help but shake my head each time my old History lecturer aka Danny Jordaan pops up in the media reassuring us that everything is on track... i mean, the local stadium has been downgraded because the promise funding which has been paid to the provincial govt hasn't filtered down to the local level yet. Apparently they're experiencing unprecedented delays.. What's he going to say when the fit hits the shan, i wonder. "Oops, my bad."

i had a look at that stadium the other day while visiting that fine dining establishment located next to the stadium, i.e. MacDonald's drivethru... They're working fast, from the looks of it. They were cementing everything in sight, just hope they don't end up cementing the pitch as well, else we'll end up watching vlakkie football
