When the P700 is released, most probably N95 would cost around 450-480 euro. So P700 needs to be priced at 350-400 euro to be even attractive as the P700 specs whether you like it or not is still FAR below N95. Couple this with a non-traditional form factor (i.e. no d-pad and require the use of stylus) would further deters normal buyers.

I reckon P700 would be successful in its own niche segment but I dont think P700 can ever be mass-market smart/multimedia/aio phone like N95.

i think 350-400 is a reasonable price. the specs that the P700 has are not something new. its just the same as all the other existing phones we have now (ie P990). there are no new features they put in it that would require them to demand a high price. it has camera,wifi, etc.... well you can find these in other phones also. unless they can include tv or skype or features that are new then IMO it is just not reasonable to price it more than 400.

Is it me or does that keypad remind you of an old Casio Calculator? I wish they'd hurry up, it still feels like I was waiting for the K800i to be released longer than the time that I've actually owned it.... oh well.... I suppose it's nice to always have something to look forward to...

Well, I WAS going to get one, but after playing with a UIQ OS phone for the first time today (W950i) i've decided it's a no no for me. I haven't owned a smartphone since 2004 and I intend not to for the forseeable future, until their as fast as regular phones.

You canīt keep yourself of being a shameless fanboy...so its FAR below the N95...you call the fact of P700 can only be compared with the E90 in terms of multitasking capability to "be far behind"...you think having around 80mb free operating RAM vs 20 something on the N95 is a little thing??? And adding to that some real decent means of text input, and a camera that shouldnīt be inferior to n95īs, and i canīt really see why it is far behing...people wanting a powefull yet small TRUE smartphone wonīt go for the n95...

In terms of ease of use, the P series is still way ahead of the Nokia smart phones. I find data entry in a Nokia phone far less convenient that a P900 or P990. But then, my main use of a smart phone is not for video, camera or audio (though it is nice to have) but PDA functions and communication (e-mail, web...). Also, as far as form factor is concerned, the P series is much more ergonomic than other smart phones. So until something better comes along (provided SE stays committed to working on the P990 - and they seem committed at this time) the P990 is still THE PHONE for me.

@makbil

just for sake of balance and sorry for being a bit off topic...but the Nokia 7710 and Nokia 9500 are very good for data entry and the 9500 is faster for data entry then even the mighty M600. I have used the P800, P900, P910, P990, M600 and W950 Also being a M600 fan I know the P700 will be superb and Symbian 9.2 seems much faster then 9.1. Not sure I like the look of the P700 - need to see it in the flesh

Nokia seems to support ISync for Mac computers. I really hope the P700 will support Apple computers as P990 doesnīt. Right now I have a K800 which works fine but it lacks functions. Any ideas?
