Sorry for been so cynical especially when people are dying ect but sometimes I think we need to be put in our place.We mess with the planet without blinking an eyelid.We need to start respecting and taking care of our planet.These things happen but because of our raping of what we know as earth these things are happening more frequently and at a larger scale.But in most cases it will just go over our heads.So what ive just written is pretty pointless lol

i agree with what you just said, Hobbs. Slowly but surely we're destroying the planet, but we're definitely not doing enough to rebuild/salvage what we can. Some would interpret these happenings as signs of "The End" but i don't think we're even close to that point, not by a long chalk. The end isn't quite nigh but we're headed there at breakneck speed, no matter how many Save The Planet concerts we may have. Ultimately it depends on the efforts of the individual, no matter how small each effort may be. Here endeth my public service announcement for today

Nice one Kryptik.I have to admit in most cases I dont practice what I preach.Its so easy to not look further than your own nose and just cover your own ass.There will come a time though where we have no choice but regretfully it won't be our problem.It will be our children and their children and their children.

Late night last night and I've got such bad middle ear infection at the moment that it feels like someone's shoved a round rasp into the middle ear canal. The quack's given me some powerful eardrops containing anti-biotics and a steroid, but a day later I'm still in a helluva lot of discomfort, to say the least.
@ Hobbs and Kryptik,
I seriously don't know what's going on with the weather here this Summer. Well we've hardly had a Summer as such, and there's no exaggeration in that statement. We had a pretty warm, fantastic Spring time in March and early May, but I feel that I could almost count hot Summer days since then on my hand at the moment.
Honestly, I've never known it to rain so much and so intermittently over late May, June and July. WTF's going on?!
Yeah, I felt for those poor suckers stranded on the M5.
Last year this time it was week upon week of 35 degree heat. Yesterday was absolutely torrential rain. Fortunately most had cleared by the time that we drove back home last night. And today the Sun is trying hard to smile down on us, but there's a blanket of dark clouds on the horizon...
Sorry Jojo, you may have to wait a bit longer for those pics of the Kwacka in action...

I haven't always refrained from compulsive tendencies as regards my history of purchasing cellphones.
But a few bad experiences over the years has made me a lot more patient, saved me from squandering more money unnecessarily and (hopefully) made me a lot wiser in this regard.
The Nokia 8210, Ericsson R520m, Siemens MC60, Motorola V100 and Maxon 7922 all suddenly come to mind... unfortunately.

Hope your ear infection clears up swiftly.Got a 12 year old here that has his head stuck in the new Harry Potter book that he got this morning.His on page 188 out of 600 or so odd pages so he will most probably finish it off tonight sometime.Incredible.Seen a hyperactive kid sit still hours on end.Great stuff Mrs Rowlings.

Eventually got the firmware updated on the N70...in my haste to get my phone back I forgot to tell the good folks at Vodacare that my phone also does not vibrate. they gave me a Motorola C118 a loan phone- haven't felt so disconnected from the world in a while.
the T39m has them stumped, the guy behind the counter gave me one look and shook his head. apparently they won't fix it because I didn't buy the phone through Vodacom.

One of the biggest and cheapest superstore chains here, Asda (part of the US Wal-Mart group) have caused a price war by upstaging Tesco (£8.87)and others..by charging just £5 (approx R70) for the book! To avoid people bulk-buying, they have limited the sale of only 2 copies per customer.

Sorry to hear that you're not having much luck with the
T39m. As a last resort, we can still make a plan to get the phone here; I'm just surprised that all the repair places have reacted to the thought of repairing the thing asif it had leprosy or something.
