just seems suspicious to me. with all the XR5 rumors we've heard about the camera, this just seems.. wrong.
I think the main reason they did that is to protect the sources
The bottom haft will probably have the batch number that might locate the date and place of production etc
Also, in a Prototype device, i bet there will be more information or Manufacturers numbers in those devices, so its better for them to censored all those information before publishing the pic

And of course people get mad at sony, not the people turning up peoples expectations. With that said, even if it's "just" a smaller ZU with beefier camera and led flash it will still be an awesome device, how can it not be?
