anyways i just got a new nokia e65 from '3' australia, in BLACK! =). feeling rather pleased with the phone now, more details can be found in my post in 'other manufacturers' section of the forum for anyone interested.
has anyone suscribed to the maxis 'my phones' package? if so, what phone did you get? i'm looking for those who got the e65? would be pleased to have a maxis theme and the customizations that goes with it. also, what are your thoughts on maxis' branding? anyone?

not so bad, i feel. just added settings and stuff like that. no superficial branding far as i'm concerned. there's only nokias and motos now though, although i have rumours from maxis center that SE is joining soon.

maxis you say? try keying in *133# and pressing send to activate GPRS services. for 3G, press *136# and send. the send button BTW is the one you use for making calls. for more information, you can visit
http://www.maxis.com.my, failing all else call 123 to maxis service.
hope that helps.
on a side note, the w810 doesn't support 3G, only EDGE. maxis ATM doesn't promote their EDGE networks much, i have an EDGE phone but the settings doesn't work as well.
just thought i would like to share here on the maxis EAST MALAYSIA promotions. this applies to only east malaysians, who registered their phones in sabah or sarawak. the minimum pay per month is rm50, which is cheaper than p75 for those with low usage. however, here's the catch.
call rates, MMS, IDD and so forth and everything remains the same as p75. the only catch is that if you're in WEST MALAYSIA and making calls using the line, the cost is rm0.30/minute as compared to the normal rate (double...!). the only upper is that lower monthly pay, for those east malaysians on postpaid who don't call that much.
has anyone got any phones from maxis myphone package yet? please, do share. and please share any tips on lowering your usage, i.e. 132 IDD and so forth.
cheers!

is this thread dead?
anyways just a quick rant on maxis here. i just changed my plan to the east malaysia plan, since i don't want to have such a high commitment to phone bills. and then...maxis comes up with value50 which is exactly the same as east malaysia plan except it doesn't charge more when i'm calling from west malaysia (in other words, a true flat-rate nationwide). so that makes the east malaysia plan...obsolete? in only 1 month?!
i got a feeling the people at maxis is completely ignoring east malaysia. first 3G that took ages to arrive, now this. maxis, have you surrendered east malaysia to your yellow brethren?
i have to change plans now. again. bloody annoyed.
p.s.: been checking the myphones deals on maxis, it seems that some phones are even more expensive on contract (!) than the sim-free original packages. subsidies? what subsidies? get your act together, maxis!

I guess this thread has died a natural death... Dunno where all the buggers have gone to.
Sim free cheaper than on contract? Bugger... Maxis people must be smoking crack.
BTW, I just love the DiGi advertisement where their yellow people thingy are getting stronger. Very creative advertisement.

yes, they spend quite a lot on marketing. pity though, that their customer service is the worst ever. for both their call center and walk in centers. i'm sick of having them hang up on my call when i need assistance, and i'm on digi business. sick enough to switch to maxis.
