When I had my P910i, there was a SonyEricsson branded firmware update that you could do, which I indeed did. It removed all traces of Voda and essentially put the firmware into its vanilla form.

@Sainty,
Was it you who said that the free extra 1000 text message bundle can also be used for data? (Not much point in getting a phone like this if you can't afford to use its data capabilties).

Cheers,
Ian

I've mentioned that before.

Wonder if you can upgrade after 12 months on a 18 month contract?

I've managed to upgrade my two lines at months 9 and 10 on 18 month contracts.

No, there is no external branding, but being from Vodafone, it has Vodafone firmware installed on it so you get the Voda screen when you start/shut down etc. I imagine all message centres and so forth are also preprogrammed in with no changing possible.

Yup, the data settings are preinstalled (with a padlock icon, so I don't think you can delete them) as I mentioned in my post last night.

Just to clarify, they HAVEN'T changed the look of the OS/icons (as they did with the M600i). There were no VF themes installed (although I did see the start-up, but not the shutdown screen).

There is NO external branding on the handset.

its branded with voda startup screens but nothing externally.

it's actually quite a nice voda logo compared to the p910 so it doesnt bother me.

So am i rite in thinking these rearly voda batches only have lite Branding but in the coming weeks there gonna be more branded with themes / casing logos......Or is this the final unit from voda?

so say if i bought 1 now it would be less branded than one say i bought from voda in say a month?

Thanks

I have no idea whether additional branding of the handset will take place. I dont see why it would.

just went into voda - they had a delivery of just 2 today, but you had to pre order, plus pay deposit of £50 and there were 4 more people in cue for the phone ahead of me

so gave up - jus gonna wait for orange to get their behinds into gear

first time i saw the phone, even though it was just a dummy!
