> SE failing in producing good phones?

does anybody agree that n95 only make slight profit or just break even with all those technologies incorporated? just wonder how many n95 they can sell all these while even though consumers seem hungry to grab one,so far i have not seen one with any of my hundred friends, i think nokia have the financial muscle to bring out such device but not SE, it is too risky with such investment, SE is going for maximum profit, market share is second

if se would put all their succesful features in one fone, they coudlnt sell so many different models. in every fone is a certain segment forced, like cyber shot or walkman. its actually the way what nokia did since ages

SE phones used to be all-in-ones, like K700 for example. Then they started to release bulk new models in a range of different segments. J series, w series, m series, even an f series phone (but only the one f - what was that all about?)
Nokia don't have any all-in-one's either even though the N95 is being touted as such - they have N series (multimedia) OR E series (qwerty-business), but no Touchscreen at all. SE have W series (music) , K series (camera) or M/P series (business - touchscreen/qwerty).

"They just do it?". Did you just hit the enter key without thinking about this?
What has SE actually done except repackage their existing phones into different cases, use the same "OLD" technology, and then try to pawn it off as new and improved. They have not innovated in years. Nokia, Samsung, and a few others are outpacing SE when it comes to innovative products. There is nothing new in SE's line up that has not been seen before. (By them)

Good points Max and Boba,
You are seeing convergent models as well as specialized phones. For the "one size fits all" consumer there are models like the N95. For consumes with less of a pocketbook, there are the less expensive models that can be tailored to specific needs. Yes Nokia has deep pockets but Sony is supposed to be the worlds leading consumer manufacturer. Too bad that innovative spirit has not made its way into SE phone that much.

Xenon flash, and bestpic not innovative enough at £130, if i paid nearer £500 for an N95 i might rightfully expect it to do everything but make toast!!.
You have to examine what products are available in EVERY price sector, ONLY in the UPPER market sector is SE lacking a real contender.

not really, even at the same price range as, say, E65, Nokia offers much much more.
