THe amount of ram is not a major issue as long as multi tasking is a possibility.. now i can run few applications with out much problems..
i did get a restart when i tried to open many applications together , when the ram fell below 1.5mb

My current CDA is CDA162008/69. When trying to update into the latest version(R6D) it says that I have the latest firmware installed, but my firmware is still R9F011. Any ideas?

I updated to the new fw last night. The phone is faster, opera works fantastic but didn't notice any difference in multitasking and memory leakage. I can't for example browse internet using opera, listen some music and open agile messanger at the same time.
I wold like those people who claim it now multitask better to try the above and give info about the result.
For the guy whose CDA is 69 or do, you can't update to the latest fw because it is available only to CDA/1 and /2.

You will have to wait for a while, as it is always being released for Generic World 1 & 2 first.

Yes, this bug has been fixed it seems.
And my phone is MUCH faster in the menus.

R6 fw definitely a move in the right direction but still some ways to go.
Camera auto focus works pretty good now and WLAN definitely works much better, connects faster and is more stable.
One of the bugs remaining: for applications installed on memory stick, if they are assigned to different folders (such as Applications), they revert back to the "Tools" folder after a USB connection in file transfer mode.
I haven't noticed any significant difference in the volume level either with AADP bluetooth headphones or the supplied cable headphones.
