Thanks... I was thinking about the firmware at first. I'll check it out. I did use the scene modes though. This might be a nonsense question but what settings should I use for white balance, etc?

The White balance option is in the Settings menu. After choosing it, pick the type of lighting around you. (auto, daylight, cloudy, fluororescent [fluororescent light bulbs], incadescent [incadescent/"classic" light bulbs])

I took mine using macro with no flash, but it came out a bit blurred =| I am still experimenting to try to get good pictures if you look at my London Zoo pictures =)
