Yes they do lock them, but they can be easilly locked.

And why dont you want to take a contract? It is usually a lot cheaper to take the latest handsets on contracts.

My K850i without web'n'walk would be the same thing to me as having a phone with no battery or no screen.

No you have to have a contract but with o2 you will normaly get a k850i that isnt locked. (calling it sim free)

If you dont wan a contract you will have to wait for the sim free ones from places like amazon, play.com etc

darrengf, an unlocked phone is not necessarily a SIM free phone.

SIM free is when you buy a phone with no SIM card, as the name suggests - i.e. neither on PAYG or with a Pay Monthly contract. Unlocked phones are simply those that are not restricted to use with a SIM card from a particular network.

Therefore, all SIM free phones are unlocked, but not all unlocked phones are SIM free.

I wonder if this is the most anticipated SE phone this far!?
I decided to buy this phone roughly a month ago.
I remember when they annonced the SE W800i the eleventh of march 2005. I waited until i was released by the end of august that year. That was a long wait!

But it's still sooo hard to wait. Child waiting for boxing day...i know

But i will try to stay cool and see if katshing.se might be able to deliver next week. And we all know how far away next week is, don't we?!
I just put out an add on my N73, i'll see if i can't squeeze 200 EU:s out of it.

Its the first time I've been anticipating a phone allong with the T650i. Before I just looked at phones whenever my upgrade was due, and the next K series hadset was already available. This one I read about when my upgrade was due in July. I've been waiting since then, which is probably why they offered me it free on £17.50 a month. I still need to give them a ring to confirm that I want the web'n'walk tariff though at £28.75. I'll make sure to do that tommorow.

K700i, K750i, K800i, and now K850i. Love them all. I gave the K700i to my dad, the K750i dropped a few times and has scratches all over it and a non functional camera button

The K800i has been in a case since I got it, dropped four times and still in mint condition

Must buy a case for the K850i too. I'll go for the Crystal case again after its released, they look real nice.

I have to say that I think this phone is generating so much buzz due to the mythical 5mpx number. The 800/790 drew me in due to the xenon flash (unheard of in a cam phone). For the 850, the 5mpx is the publicly perceived step up into real camera territory. Unfortunately, I think it's a bit more name than reality, but we have to remember that the thing is a phone first.

I have to say huge kudos to the tri-band hsdpa, which imo is the best feature of the phone (its saving grace). I was debating getting the n95 us-3g edition, but then I'd miss out on the 8gb internal. Found the compromise to be unacceptable...

Instead went with an iphone 8gb and find wifi to be inferior to full hsdpa coverage. The phone should be a real treat.

But I'm really waiting for one with higher quality optics and a more focused approach to video/photo capture rather than marketing mumbo. Maybe the n82 will deliver, if it ever comes out...

For me its the HSDPA making a huge buzz since I use mobile broadband. Especially if t-mob give me the 10 gig w+w tariff at half price. I have another three hours left before I can call them to discuss the tariff.

The offer they made me a couple of days back was flext 35 at half price for £17.50 and K850i free, then I heard from someone that works at T-mobile retail that I can get the w+w max and flext 35 plan at half price too, but its not officially confirmed on my account yet untill I give them a ring.

2 hours 50 minutes untill their phone lines open.... XD

(BTW I snapped up 50% off on line rental for life with T-mobile as an employment benefit last year)

I've only had 5 hours sleep this night, i'm too exited XD...

Im so Exited I use XD a lot XD XD
