> K850i vs N95 pic quality

There is one thing which I found very problematic with the k850i's camera - chromatic aberation/blue fringing. That can't be sorted out by soft/firmware ! If one tries to filter that out - mismatched colors will be the result. SE have suffered a lot after having to repay Ericsson over 100million USD at the begin of the year. The k850i is but one of the victims. Se just began showing very nice profits and growing very well. Ericsson should have waited another year for their money. The Ceo was involved in BIG discussions with both parent companies and eventually left SE. They've already had a drop in profits for the last quarter and judging by the sells in oct. the drop will widen in this quarter. Bad SE, very BAD !

It is quite clear that the K850 lost in every single shot. The k850 shots are far more grainy and no where near as sharp. This is the 2nd site with comparisons that shows a vast difference in photo quality of the two camera's. And the differences are consistantly the same. Even the most dedicated SE fan would have to give the N95 a victory for it's photo quality. I'll be hanging on to my K800 for sometime yet.

Overdoing the noise reduction and sharpening doesn't equal quality! Both K850i and N95 photos look like sh*t to me. But with the K850i you at least have the choice of doing further post processing off-camera, while N95 photos already are beyond any hope of saving. You can't undo excessive noise reduction.

This what i always try to pinpoint to everyone who declares N95's image quality as winner over K850. K850 can also perform those overprocessing and oversharpening at N95's level and lets see if anybody could dare to say N95 pics are sharper. another was that if it is possible to remove N95's post processing gimmick, all pictures will look grainy, blurred and noisy just like K850 since they both uses the same crappy CMOS sensor

Noise reduces details and K850 photos has plenty of noise. How about "white haze" and the unnatural color of K850? You just can't turn crap shots of K850 into amazing shots no matter what processing you do.

Well honestly, if I were in the market for a new phone (which i'm not) I would be going for the N95 8mb. It would seem to me it has addressed the issues of the original N95 - it's just a shame they removed the lens cover.

Do you honestly think that the N95 would produce less noise than the K850i??? They both have CMOS-based cameras!!! That you see less noise from the N95 is not due to it's [sarcasm]superior camera quality[/sarcasm]. Without it's brutal noise reduction the N95 photos would look pretty much identical to the ones from the K850i - minus purple fringing and other optical imperfections of course.

If the K850i and the N95 were the
only choices, then I would pick the N95. Why? Because of Symbian S60, GPS and VGA-quality video recording. For about the same price!

The N95 doesnt have a flash - The K850i does.
The N95 will be useless in low light/indoors shots ...
I too like the N95, its such a shame no Xeon flash .....
