Hi All!!!

How are you guys?? I mean EVERYONE! Its been a long while since I've been on Esato, what with so much Uni work going on, Working et all - I've missed it!

Well, Clauf you've done a Grand job of this thread, it looks amazing and i'll add to it by working hard on bringing you updates with regards to our beloved Keitai!

Since my last post, I now have a C905 on my Orange upgrade (It was due back in London) - and am now waiting for the SO907i to be launched, after which i'll go to KDDI in order to continue getting Sony Keitai...!

Welcome back Sony a... missed you there for a while. Because you haven't checked back in such a long time, it was confirmed that Sony Ericsson wouldn't produce phones for DoCoMo anymore... or at least for this season collection of phones.

907i series is now 01-A, 02-A, 03-A, etc. The letter means something... I don't remember what... =P

KDDI phones don't work outside of Japan remember... or I mean with like a different provider. The Sony Ericsson KDDI phones have GSM, but it doesn't work at the moment.

Further news says we will see a BRAVIA branded handset in the UK next year, as the HTC HD takes displays to a new level. Sony Ericsson are going to be using the Sony x BRAVIA tie to launch High resolution Mobiles in the UK, although - keep in mind this may only be the one 'Hero Handset', in the form of the 8800 from Nokia - in saying it will be highly sought after - so not an average run of the mill handset.

I believe that's what Sony Ericsson Japan and Sony Ericsson is working on... go Bravia =)

Hey Clauf!

Yeah - I know, I meant the SO907i aka SO-01A (^-^*) sorry for the Confusion lol!

Well, there is a new HyperSIM available from Mr Max (Admittedly its still a bit blackmarket) which unlocks KDDI phones such as the W62s from Metal Gear Solid 4 (Very very slick piece of kit) - and yup, GO BRAVIA!!

This news, although a little outdated now - is that the C905 was NOT Built by SEMCJ, it was only designed with the input from their design team, and the internal Camera hardware provided by them, the actual phone was done by SEMC - so it was a joint effort, but the majority was developed by SEMC...

whoa, how does the keypad orientation change on that Panasonic P-01A

Answer, in case any one else was perturbed...
...The company disclosed the keyboard structure at the press conference. The handset uses a mechanism in which printed-keyboard sheets slide when the handset is opened or closed lengthways...

That be the works of a demon i tell yah! Seriously though the buttons change through disply. Those buttons are digital meaning when you have the phone turned off there little pieces of plastic but when on its magic and you got numbers and letters. I hope that comes soon to europe....

You are thinking too complicated se_dude! It's actually a piece of plastic that just slides up and down LMAO. I thought it was some cool OLED at first but turns out that wasn't the case XD

Here is a picture of how it works:

Portrait Flip

Sliding Keypad

Landscape Flip

Even though it's really simple... I think it's pretty innovative. I'm not sure how long lasting this is though... And I don't understand why the sliding plastic doesn't blend well with the colour of the phone. Because of that, the black one looks the best:

And se_dude the build quality of Japanese keitais in general are way better than any phone... and I'm serious about that. The 906i phones have a poorer build quality than the previous 905i generation ones... so maybe the Winter Collection phones might be worst than 906i... but it's still way better than phones outside of Japan.

Well they aren't copying... LG submitted their phone to DoCoMo. It works a little weird with Japanese phones. The operator asks the company to design the phone... unlike where internationally, the phone is usually designed first, then adapted by the operator.

The standard is 5mp now and highest is Sharp's 8.1 MP camera.
