actually it's not (all) true. not much sample pics yet but, to be honest, I see big improvement since previous phones (even C510) and I hope it's not an illusion...

- much better sharpening processing. maybe not very sharp but this is less important thing. edges are soft, not jagged like in C902

- chromatic noise is gone. even ISO200 pic is clear and this is really nice job because this noise was a real nightmare

I think it's based on a Samsung sensor, and not the Sony crap in most of the other Cyber-shot phones.

true. take a look at quality from C903, this is typical Sony sensor - chroma noise and ugly sharpness. C901 is totally different story, something like K770 was (with Samsung sensor)

The K770 had a larger aperture aswell 2.52 so it had a avantage in lower light, damn i prefered the C903 but cleary the C901 has the better camera, the C901's cam in the C903's body would be good.

@ number1,

Agreed! Besides, if only SE didn't go for that intolerable glossy finish, the C903 would have been a gem.

Cheers!

Im a big fan of this especially seeing as it has the xenon flash like my K800... One of the main reasons why i didnt upgrade to the C902 and the C905 was still a bit pricy.... As for the C903 i think the two sliding mechanisms are the wrong way to go... To many moving parts could cause some trouble, especially with the early production models...

Many of samsungs cellphone cameras is really crap, 8510 is the only cam whos great (and thats a expensive 8 m.p) so i easily prefer sonys sensors all the way, in range 2-5 m.p, c902,w902,k810,k750 have great colours and well detailed images.
Besides, K770 is good but far from great

Not really. It feels rather cheap, and almost like an F305 - which is not a good thing!

Actually K770 is better than c902,w902 and k810, it has great colors, no chromatic aberration and no aggressive noise reduction.
And most of the samsung phone have good cameras, have you seen images from samsung D900?
Only 3 mpx, but the quality is excellent.
