Ya. I'm not even sure if I'm going to be getting mine (though I did send in the form), due to the way I upgraded through their retentions department. I did sign a new 3yr contract, so I have my fingers crossed.

So-O1B will have Japanese input but I'm not sure if X10@SO-01B works. I would recommend flashing Generic HK when I upload and check if the features mentioned by you are listed.

Now lets wait 2 hours until both firmwares are uploaded.

Hey guys,

The GPS now works. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with this... but I realized I didn't setup the APN correctly (I was running off WiFi). After I restored my APN using "APN Backup & Restore" app from Market, it works flawlessly.

I would highly recommend that people backup their phone (apps and contacts, etc...) using some back up apps found in Market. That way when you flash your firmware, you can easily restore your original settings, apps, contacts, etc...

Thanks for finding the X10a generic firmware Lollylost100! Do you know if I were to download that firmware and redo your procedure, will it update my phone to the new X10a 1.0.16 firmware?

X10a firmware? Really? So we'll have proper firmware later today for debranding our Rogers X10s? Sweet!

My only concern regarding debranding with the UK firmware was that if anything happened to the phone and I needed to warranty it, it would be more obvious it's been debranded. A proper X10a firmware would rectify this. Lollylost, you're awesome.

And with that said, I have noticed that with the Rogers firmware (ie: branded) X10, the Mobile Network Mode settings available lack the "GSM only" 2G option, but but going into the deeper phone menu (dialing *#*#4636#*#*) it's there and can be selected.

Can anyone with a Rogers X10a that they've debranded confirm whether or not "GSM only" is available through the Settings > Wireless Controls > Mobile Networks > Network Mode menu on your debranded X10?
