Damn 3 flagships in a row with the same ugly ass design, what the hell happen to Sony? I love how Sony gets a pass on here for reusing the same design yet Samsung gets criticized
At this rate my next phone will have a 4k display once Sony finally switches up the design
They get a pass because people on here like (or love) the design. I'm afraid it sounds like you're very much in the minority.
People are used to similar designs over and over now, Apple took care of that, but the difference with Samsung is that the majority seem to dislike the design of their Galaxy S series. People want Samsung to give it a fresh, good looking design and then they won't criticise.

The same basic design by Samsung has been used by 5 generations now vs 3 by Sony ... so what's your point exactly?!

I believe the real problem is not how all the Galaxy S series look the same. It is rather how Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Grand, Galaxy Core, Galaxy Express, Galaxy Round, Galaxy Fresh, Galaxy Win, Galaxy Prevail, Galaxy Star, and many-whatever-galaxy-out-there-designed-for-humans that look the same with each other.
The Galaxy S series aka the premium series might be good looking IF they didn't use the design on the other low, mid, tablet series.

Bands are going to LOVE THIS!! Why didn't Sony really use this during the conference to impress?! This further shows HUGE value.
Z2 .... (unless Z1 Compact can use this fully) ... I think you've finally won me over with Android. (unless BB10 can launch a better device than the Z30, hmmm do I count sheep or shall I wait).
I´m not sure if other xperia phones and tablets are able to use the new accessories - the 5 pin plug is not compatible i think? even z1 compact can´t use it?

It's official...
Qualcomm is saying that Z2 is using 801
http://www.qualcomm.com/snapdragon/smartphones/sony-xperia-z2#
but.. the question now goes for
Does Qualcomm names both 8974AB and 8974AC as 801 ?
In that case, Sony is using 801 but the AB variant...
or Sony does use 8974AC but a little bit down clocked to increase battery life ( Sony always have less freq. ).. and the white-paper are wrong like most new launches from Sony

both AB and AC are 801, the only difference is CPU frequency and support for emmc 5.0
GPU and ISP speed is the same for both
There is also some voltage differences but its negligable

And Samsung Galaxy S5 is using the Snapdragon 801... so both Sony and Sammy are on the same bandwagon... except that the Z2 has 3GB of RAM...
How much will the S5 lag this time?
I'm more and more convinced that I'll buy this phone
I really wanted the Z1 but speaker quality and display turned me down... Thjis Z2 is a better Z1 and it is what I need and want

Every news site was reporting that the AC variant is the new 801 and the AB variant is still the 800. Only the white paper claimed otherwise. Personally, I'd go with option #2.
