Sony does have some spotty reputation in this department with certain recurring issues like poor edge-to-edge sharpness and a lot of noise under less than favorable lighting. Looking at the samples form the Z5 Compact we sadly see many of these issues yet again - some shots came out quite blurry and a lot of detail seems to have this watercolor like look, which is usually a result of poor noise reduction algorithms.
[snip!]
What I don't understand is when people say that oversharpening and overbearing noise reduction does not matter since most people view their photos on a computer screen or smartphone display. Then why bother with NR and sharpening at all? The raw unprocessed photo would still look good when scaled down to the screen.
My current phone (Lenovo K920) supports switching off sharpening and NR when using third-party apps (Snap HDR Camera for example) and when I view even low-light shots on my laptop these look okay. Scaling down for the display makes most noise hard to see.

Sony Xperia Z5 Compact Is Apparently Overheating For Some

This could be the reason:
Last month in a teardown of the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, it was discovered that Sony had included an extra heat pipe in the phone. What this does is that it allows for better heat dissipation, which is handy when you consider that the Snapdragon 810 chipset is said to be prone to overheating.
This was applied to the Xperia Z5, but there was no confirmation of whether it was the same situation for the Xperia Z5 Compact. Unfortunately according to recent reports out of China (via Tech Grapple), it turns out that maybe the Xperia Z5 Compact was not given the same treatment because now there are users who are reporting that their Xperia Z5 Compact phones are overheating.
here's the link from China:

.
Misleading articles, any overheating issues are not causing touch screen issues, they're a separate issue.

Nothing misleading about them... I thought they were clear and pretty straightforward. The z5 compact does not have that "heatsink" inside... which explains the overheating issues.
Which in turn, leads to touchscreen issues, as mentioned in the last article. Now whether it is really the cause, is up for debate, and that's a topic for another discussion... but the fact remains that the z5 compact is overheating.
So unless there's another teardown, or some evidence that Sony has now put in that heatsink inside, then this heat issue remains unresolved.

Huh?
It definitely is misleading.
As the articles you posted claim that the touch screen issue is caused by overheating.
So like I said they are seperate issues and therefore the articles are misleading.
Heres why its misleading, titles like this
"Sony Xperia Z5 Compact heating issue making touch failure "
The heating issues DO NOT cause the touch failure.
Both UberGizmo and Techgrapple, just like PhoneArena who posted a video of touch screen issues and falsely claimed they were caused by heat issues then got called out by the uploader who said hes had 0 heat issues and then removed the article LOL. Are reporting the touch failure is caused by overheating, when it is not.
Even the Original Chineese article from My Drivers says the source for hearing about touch failure is Sonys forum and in the thread there is 0 mention of overheating.
In short: I'm not saying the issues dont exist, I'm saying they are unrelated.

Got to play with one and it was lagging, most likely software but that 2GB of RAM is not enough in my opinion.
