> Sony Xperia Z5 Premium Announced
Bookmark topic
Sony Poland released the price of the new Z5P. While the Z5 and Z5C prices are comparable to other EU prices, france or germany, the Z5P price is, wait for it, 150 Euros more than in Germany, so 950 Euros. Ha f**ked up. Would be easier to just take a cheap flight to any city from Poland, get off at the airport and buy the phone in germany, and take a cheap flight back, would end up being cheaper than buying it in Poland.

I think sony is scaring people off with the prices for sure. and for americans who want to get an xperia, we are stuck importing cause it doesn't look like they will be coming to the US at all. the Z3/Z4 variants in the US must not have done very well. Sony needs to boost their marketing in the US for sure.
I would be much more tempted to get a z5p at euro prices if it wasn't so much. i don't think the price tag warrants the realistically, small jump in features from the Z3.
I'll wait to see what happens at MWC and then fall 2016. looks like the ole Z1 is gonna continue chugging along for another year or more..

more samples
original comparison
Sony z3 not the best for me, but much better than Z3. Golf color is wery good, but unfocused slightly.

some says that the Premium 4K screen wont work at full resolution all the time, only at 4K contents, otherwise will stuck at 1080p for power saving

most likely it's true, gfxbench scores @fhd onscreen ... 4k content will work @4k and rest will upscaled to 4k by x-reality mobile engine...

That could explain how the Z5P can achieve 2day batt. life Sony claim. I actually like the fact that it will adjust to 4K when 4K content/media is played. Reminds me of how many high performance cars will mostly run on half the cylinders available when driving normally and then activate the rest when they are needed, saves fuel.
Also, if it runs at HD1080P most of the time, then 3GB RAM is more than enough, its a good job by Sony, IMO.
I asked Sony Mobile South Africa when this phone will arrive down here, and they said November
same time as Europe.

Now when the 4K situation has been explained, that feels way better than locked 4k.
Are you kidding seriously, 3400 mAh battery should be plenty with this nifty solution.

Thats a better solution. Im thinking if it can be achieved by lcd displays before like on amoled which you can select pixels to be powered on. Maybe that's why rumors before pointing two screen resolutions, fhd and 4k.

Pre-production Xperia Z5 compared to the Galaxy Note 5
It looks like the Xperia Z5 Premium has a display with lower latency compared to the Note 5's.
Note 5 exhibit some ghosting when he flicks down all the tabs. Look at 4:51m in the video.
Or are my eyes just fooling my mind?
