I have always been a Sony fan.
May 24 last year my 1 VII 16/512GB order went thru. A couple of days later it was sold out from the site I´m buying.
I really hope I will be able to order the Japan-only top version of the VIII.
Rumoured of 1Tb version. Start saving for it!

Never liked the square camera lens island design that others use, prefer the Sony vertical-style, or a horizontal bar. Not the end of the world though, and the back of the iPhone 17 Pro is actually ugly, but that doesn't stop them selling boat-loads.

Square module brings back ergonomics of 1IV/V where your hand can grip the phone higher. 1VI had a taller camera module than 1V but on 1VII it got ridiculously tall. Probably as tall as some of those Chinese Ultras.

I don't love but I also don't mind the square camera module. If it means they can upgrade the cameras in ways they could not with the old setup, then I'm ok with it.
Shouldn't be much longer until we get some teaser from sony, right?

I think if they go with the square design, they need to do something with the empty space. Maybe put the Zeiss sticker there or something for the empty space.

I see the EU is enforcing the sale of mobile phone sold from next year to have replaceable batteries. Are we going back to the 'clip on' rear battery cover, like Xperias of old?
I wonder if the next Xperia has this feature or will it skip the EU altogether and is this the reason for the redesigned camera bump?
